Important for marketing & team chemistry but on the field he was a non-factor this season (injuries,form etc). Perhaps a move into the midfield would help his career/longevity. If Villa would offer around £50-60m i would be tempted to sell.

Also, we've won the league four seasons on the row, one of which was a treble winning season. Alvarez is a world Cup winner, as well as other honours and is still a young player.

If other teams had players with that kind of profile maybe they could sell them for a similar amount!
 
Come on be fair. They bought a £80m player for a knock down £40m, got the best from him, improved his game and sold him for £500k 18 months later. Remember the old maxim ….. buy low, sell high, eat shit Raggies.
