Ambition and Balls

I watch a lot of Brighton and imo these 3 players we should be all over in the summer.

Firstly baleba. No surprise there but he will get his move next year and has the energy, hunger and stamina we need in cm.

Secondly van hecke - has 1 year left on his deal next summer and will be able to get him at a good price. Would be a great depth option for cb

Thirdly minteh - this would be the best option of the 3 imo. Has great pace, incredible work rate and is still only 21. He would automatically upgrade our rw options imo
There has to be 3 better options than these 3. All Brighton/Spurs level imo.

We need players on the level of Olise, Pedri and Bastoni.

I'd wager Nypan is better than Baleba in a few years, and Bah is a better option than Van Hecke.

Baleba is a great player, but surely someone like another João Neves with work rate and the ability to dictate a game has to be the prime target. Nypan could be that guy for us in the future.

It doesn’t need to be that extreme either though. A few more higher quality signings occasionally and not backing out of bidding wars every time would probably improve us faster than trying just project youngsters or average/shite like Nunes, Phillips, Savinho
Not sure I’d put Savinho in that list yet …..still a lot younger than the other two and has shown some potential - also think it’s hard to argue against the club and Pep considering we’ve just dominated for what, around 7 seasons - yes we didn’t win every one but we were there. Now it’s an obvious rebuild taking place and I hope we repay both Pep and the club with a bit of faith and patience…….not saying you’re not - just seen a few doom merchants on here and it’s a little bit short sighted and frustrating to read.

I can’t imagine why he would ever potentially want to sour his relationship with the club or fans by coming back.

Just setting him up to fail by having him follow Pep. What happens if we are mid table by Christmas in his first year and the club have to fire the man who’s got a statue outside the stadium. It’s just unnecessary pressure and inviting things to go tits up.
I understand those points but if he’s good enough as a coach then he would handle it and the appointment would only solidify that statue and his legendary status - I’m not saying he’s the right man yet, holding my judgement on his management skills as he’s still a baby in that field.

However, I think he has the courage to take the job on if he felt capable.

On top of all of that we've seen very little evidence that he's actually good enough? Winning the championship with Burnley was impressive, and good practice for Bayern because it showed he could manage a squad that costs 5x more than the league average and dominate with it.

We haven't seen anything from him at Bayern that would make you think he's gonna win the PL with the competition we're up against, or the CL. Last year Bayern lost every game against a top club in the CL.

We should just let him do his thing, grow as a manager, get better and if he's good enough with the nature of football he'll be our manager eventually.
Yeah I don’t think he’s ready and I don’t think City would go for him yet …..just making the point that he’s not the type to shy away from a challenge if he felt capable - he’d back himself and step up.

We already have shown balls and ambition in signing Donnarumma

Not only a WC keeper but changes the way we play
And paid a very good price for him.

Much prefer this than splashing 500m in one go,

I quite like what we do normally.

Buy modestly and create a world class player.

Our sights have been off the last couple of years but hopefully we have some gems amongt the latest recruits.

Why? Vinny literally went and got a job in another country, but somehow Burnley (Yes, the team he brought back to the PL), and Sean Dyche (who wasn’t even a pundit back then, he was actively managing another club) still decided to break the unspoken rule and speak out against a fellow pro, one associated with the PL for that matter.

The Daily Mail did their thing (as we would expect) as they piled on with a full-on smear campaign, saying they didn’t see what anyone saw in him, Dyche was two sentences away from calling him a DEI hire at Bayern, Burnley released edited footages on Twitter to promote the idea that Vinny was hot-headed, inexperienced, all that nonsense, Through out his time at Burnley, not once did he speak against the club and while all these attacks came at him, not once did Vinny respond. Let me repeat myself, he got torn down by colleagues in the UK for getting a managerial job in a completely DIFFERENT COUNTRY!

If Vinny wants to really enjoy his managerial career, he’s better off steering clear of the toxic football culture and the biased media circus in the UK. He should be aiming for trophies in Germany, France, the Netherlands, or Belgium. If he builds a solid team, he could easily be in the mix for the double : The UCL and the Bundesliga, if he can pull that off, then he could even get some personal trophies for himself by getting a nomination as Europe’s best manager. He just needs to be smart, keep sentiment to the side and avoid the UK drama altogether...entirely!

All moot anyway because Pep will extend his contract

Still won't put him off....

The PL is where all the top coaches want to be. Vinny will be no exception, and most people in football don't give a shiny shit about what the media say.

Hmm.

You do have a point.. Donnarumma might be our first galactico signing since KDB, maybe even Aguero.

It is a statement!

People dismissed Erling signing for us as he's a City fan. We were basically manufacturing our stars or picked up good players from other teams (Walker/ Mahrez/ Ake/ Stones/ Rodri/ Dias) and made them better.

We seriously need the 115 to go away as that will reduce doubt of us being in trouble. I think the 115 probably played a part in Jude/ Rice/ Wirtz saying no.

Rice was a miss but honestly Reijnders and Cherki aren't as far off Wirtz and Bellingham as the 140m difference would suggest.

KDB and Aguero weren't even true galactico signings they didn't come from the big boys and most journalists were as expectant of them to fail as succeed.

Haaland and Donnarumma are our only signings that have come with universal praise and a bit of fear from our rivals.
