American Sport Following

For an NFL game I can drive 10 hours to Denver or 12 to Seattle or San Fran. Went to a college game in Boise once (5 1/2 hrs) no alcohol in the stadium, we were gone before half time.
Been to a Real Salt Lake football game once and saw US bs Panama there too. Nice tight little stadium about 5 hrs away

American professional sports fans are laid back and more relaxed. If you attend games, you will easily notice that many don’t follow the game in detail, they only follow parts while eating and chatting to each other about topics that are not related to the game or on their phones texting and surfing the net. They are more inclined to acknowledge greatness of players who play for other teams, unlike sports fans, particularly football, in most of the world where they believe that their players only are the best and other teams’ players are just rubbish or some sort of criminals. For instance, American professional basketball fans of any random franchise would easily acknowledge that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, and Koby Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers; Michael Jordan of Chicago Bulls; Larry Bird of Boston Celtics; Hakeem Olajuwon of Houston Rockets; Charles Barkley of Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns, Tim Duncan of San Antonio Spurs; etc. are top notch players that they very much enjoyed watching, even if they have never played for their teams. Same applies to fans of American football, baseball, etc. American college sports fans have more intense rivalry than professional sports fans.

Ex Sister in law used to get them through work.....driving to buffalo was cheaper though, plus saw them play Pittsburgh who had Crosby and the Russian fella so for a neutral was like seeing Messi/Ronaldo in the same team.
Also saw Hamilton during the NIL strike which was cheap and entertraining as all they seemed to do was fight!

The wife got/gets them through work as well but we stopped taking them as it was still to expensive to go.
Same applies to TFC tickets.
The atmosphere at a Leafs game on a Wednesday night is shite as well. Full of suits that were given the tickets.
I have friends that are season ticket holders at the Toronto Argos (CFL) that travel to away games as often as they can.
The average working class hockey fan has no chance of going to a game during their lifetime in this City.
I think the Leafs games have been sold out since 1949 and it will take 250 years to clear the season ticket waiting list.
Better off going to watch the Detroit Red Wings and hope you don't get shot.

Ffs, I could drive to Manhattan or Chicago in ten hrs. You need a new dog sled team mate.

Bloody hell....I thought Buffalo was bad enough! Haven't been for few years and no need to go back...hockey was always the highlight though.
