Amsterdam holiday

Went the other week. There are some decent coffee shops around Amsterdam Central, But like other people have said - Expect to be stung on beer prices in the centre.

Amsterdam Arena isn't far from central, and they have little football tournaments you can pay to play in (5 a side). Didn't get to see a lot to be honest, those damn coffee shops are like timewarps.

Go to a club called Trouw, absolute quality. Sound system is the best i have heard next to ibiza

It isn't so bad if you don't mind getting out of the tourist trap.
This simply means going out of the city center. As a youth i would get a hotel about 3-4 tram stops from the central area then they have regular pubs with normal prices.
Get a tram card, will save you effing loads.

Any idea where you are staying ?

Not at the moment but I get the impression from you guys that it is better and cheaper to stay outside of the city centre

Very much so kp, it isn't being a tight arse but it will piss you off seeing funds drop so fast and having a couple of pints of amstel to show for it.

There is a ring road called 'Stadehouderskade' as a rule of thumb get your hotel outside of that.

How much is the difference between city centre and outskirts in terms of beer then?

Im guessing that the off licences are cheap
