Ancelotti OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pathetic thread with misguided intention. Why some posters latch on to other teams results to justify Mancini's blatant ineptitude is beyond me. Probably low expectations or something like that. i.e. we are shite but Chelsea lost again so it doesn't matter [they have won the league 3 times recently whereas we haven't]...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I'm going to passionately attack the original poster, call anyone who disagrees with me pathetic, then try to make out that the whole subject bores me so much that I've fallen asleep... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I suspect the OP was being a bit tongue in cheek, but I think other team's results aren't completely irrelevant. It gives a context to the current campaign, namely that the gap between the top clubs and the rest is closing and there have been a number of surprising results already. Perhaps we shouldn't overreact when we don't win every game.

If we win tomorrow (and admittedly I think that's far from certain) then we'd only be three points behind the leaders, so a sense of perspective is required. Obviously you don't rate Mancini, and that's your perogative, but it'd be folly to sack him now.

Agree.

And if we lose tomorrow, we'll be behind Bolton and 3 points off of in crisis Liverpool. At this early point in the season, playing the "if we win, we're X off of Y" game draws false comparisons.

Places show form, and we're 4th after 14 games in which we have yet to go to Chelsea, United, Liverpool or Arsenal.

However, this doesn't matter. City's problem isn't bad form or bad football, it is the fans and media putting wholly unrealistic expectations on the team and then whinging when they do not meet them. Mancini has been telling us for months that Chelsea will win the league, and that we are aiming for top four this year, yet we seem to think that we can judge the ability of the team better than him and most would complain if we only finished fourth this year. The media has been talking about us as title contenders and most fans have bought into their bullshit. Always the same really, these are the same fans who booed Heskey in an England shirt, despite him being one of the best English footballers in his generation, yet cheer Carroll who is essentially a young version of Heskey.

I'm always disappointed how many people nick their opinions from the reporters or at least give them more weight than everybody else.

Chelsea have put contract talks with manager Carlo Ancelotti on hold.

Inevitably this strategic move will lead to fresh speculation about the Italian’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge, especially as 11 days ago the Blues ruthlessly ditched his assistant Ray Wilkins.

In the wake of that backroom shake-up the 3-0 home defeat by Sunderland last Sunday appears to have piled pressure on Ancelotti, who arrived at Chelsea from AC Milan in June 2009.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has adopted a far more hands-on approach in shaping his club’s strategic future.

And despite guiding his side to pole position in this season’s title race, sources close to the Russian billionaire suggest he is not totally satisfied with developments at Stamford Bridge.

Abramovich was livid after Chelsea crashed to their heaviest home loss for over eight years last Sunday.

Wilkins’ departure came in the aftermath of last season’s Champions League defeat against Inter Milan and was finally sealed when Chelsea lost at Liverpool 2-0 on November 7.

The shake-up on the coaching side had been coming for a while amid suggestions that Ancelotti is too one-dimensional in his tactical approach.

Reports had initially surfaced that he only saved himself from being fired last May by leading Chelsea to an historic double last season.

Ancelotti has 18 months remaining on his current contract at Chelsea, having signed a three-year deal when he arrived in west London.

After winning the Premier League title and the FA Cup in his debut campaign he had been widely expected to extend that deal by at least a further two years. In fact, he publicly admitted he was keen to open contract talks with Chelsea and commit himself long term to the club.

But those talks have not even got off the ground and it appears Abramovich is in no rush to open them at present.

Ironically, Ancelotti did recently speak in his native Italy about another job he hopes to land one day.

It would be with AS Roma, a club he enjoyed eight years with as a player from 1979-87. Ancelotti has also revealed that he did not instigate the promotion of Michael Emenalo to first team coaching duties in the wake of Wilkins’ exit.

Emenalo had been part of the club’s scouting network, preparing dossiers on future opponents.

Unbelievable if true.

who actually cares less about chelsea or ancelotti?

my thoughts only are with city, and the truth is the premier league is there to be won.

to my mind we have a wonderful squad, if a little short in some areas, we are in striking distance, can at no point claim we have played anything like to our potential, and yet we are firmly in the race.

my frustration will be compounded if we don't at least have a go at seizing the moment, instead of just settling for fourth, which for city's progression is great, but the minimum anyone should expect for our investment.

It's ridiculous, though. I mean, if Mancini won us a double after 34 years in the wilderness, most fans would worship him. There would probably be a statue of him some day.

Chelsea breaking off contract talks after they lost a few matches while most of their big players are unavailable? Madness. Must be Mirror bollocks.

Why post in a thread on Chelsea to say that you don't care about Chelsea? Isn't the act of you opening and reading the thread counter productive if you don't care, or do you just have that much time to waste?

I disagree that fourth is settling. Fourth is an excellent achievement for any club. Yes, we have a good squad and we haven't played to our full ability; however, the same can be said for Chelsea, United, Liverpool and Arsenal. Even Spurs.

Also, I don't think anybody CAN settle for fourth. Nobody is going to purposely lose games, or not play their hardest/best because we are in third. The table doesn't lie at the end of the season, and anything in the top four will be good enough for me.

Football progression is a marathon, not a sprint. As everybody seems to understand after a manager gets sacked, but never understands just before a manager gets the sack.

i made my decision to open the thread out of curiosity, i then chose to write a response, i guess i made it without following the exact guidelines, ie expect a boring response from a nerd hanging on your every word, hoping to pull it up.

as for your too much time to waste comment, i didn't realise opening a thread was a race against time, or maybe you are allowed to only open a certain amount of threads, i don't know?

anyhow i am off to fulham now, i will judge what i see with my own 2 eyes, and hey, it's on telly today, so i guess you may get a watch.
