Some fellow Blues of my generation may recall a ref in the 1960's called Maurice Fussey. He was Fussey by name and fussy by nature. Everything was theatrical, although by no means to the extent of Senor dos Santos. He exaggerated on most decisions, and also I recall he would wait until both teams were 'kicking in' before sprinting from the tunnel to the centre circle to signal for the coin toss. Roger Kirkpatrick later copied this idiosyncrasy, but he couldn't run as fast as Mr Fussey did. Both were shit refs, by the way, but IMHO far more capable than the clowns we have nowadays.
