Andrea Cambiaso

You have to look at Pep's contract he only had 12 months left last summer, So did he want to run down the last 12 months and then leave City in a right old mess for the new manager. City needs to be clear in the future and don't let things run down and then try and fix them all at once
Ideally yes. If he is only doing 2 years though what option is there but to run it down. I think end of last season, last summer he really did think this may have been his last year.

Perhaps one of the reason we’re evidently investing in youth. Allow Guardiola to coach them for the remainder of his contract, and, if he chooses again to extend, all is good. However, if he instead chooses to bow out, then at least the squad is young enough not to require an overhaul, meaning any transition should be much smoother.

But don't you think the Club should have had plans in place just for that and not let it happen without a plan for a new manager and rebuild? Now Pep will get the money for the rebuild and can leave with the team healthy, It is 12 months too late for me and we have to play catch up from now on

The rebuild has now already happened under Pep, So now City have to finish the rebuild off in this window and hope we get a Champions League spot, Then in the summer if we have a place in the Champions League he can finished off the rebuild

To a point yes, but take KDB, as long as they were there it was very difficult to buy any successor while he was still there. In the case of Gundogan then it looked like we were close with Paqueta until that went south and I think that’s the one we should have fixed rather than bring Gundogan back. Plus in hindsight renewing Walker after the treble was an error.
I think what we are doing now is replacing Alvarez, and maybe Walker, Khusanov and Reis will probably replace a centre back or two that will leave in the summer.
My point being Walker, KDB,Gundogan maybe Stones maybe even Bernardo , are all probably easier to move on than they were 6/12 months ago.

You seem to have more rebuilds than Trump’s wall… but I agree. ;-)
I’m as interested to see what will happen in the summer in terms of moving people out. Even if we finish in the top four, which I’m rather sure we will, how ruthless do we now become in regards senior players?

5 or 6 will defo leave and we have to sort out Ederson's future as well

We were better but not fitter; we were missing legs in both legs, literally and figuratively. 17th April, for me, was the night when the amber light of early spring started flashing red. Perturbing that 10 months later we're still all scrambling around searching for solutions.
Funny I don’t remember you mention it. I think we were knackered in the second leg for 2 key reasons (1) we were running for the title, they had pissed their league, they were also given time off by la liga, which we weren’t (2) we worked an awful lot harder than they did, they relied on a mixture of defending, dark arts and good luck. However it’s always good to know that half the posters on bluemoon know much more about managing a football team than Pep Guardiola, especially when utilising hindsight

That’s what I said?
You said we were unlucky, it's a game we should have won, at that time were were a far better team, we lost through fatigue, a slight loss of form.

Last season we were very leggy the longer the season went on, which made me utterly amazed that we did not address the issue last summer but at least the club have acknowledge the error and are doing amazingly this window to start a much needed rebuild.

I gave you the reasons we were leggy. If you think the PL treated us in the same preferential way than la liga did Real Madrid than I am very surprised

It’s scandalous that the PL doesn’t extend the same MO to all the other top leagues.

TV scheduling is far more important.

Sorry, the money from TV scheduling is far more important.

Any movement on this?

The Mullock story seemed to change very quickly from nearly done to off?

Could be doing with a versatile player Cambiaso.

Then assault the midfield in the summer.

I doubt City are briefing Mullock if we are interested in a player tbh. I think tomorrow might bring some more positive news
