This sort of cheap, cliched soundbite might make you sound like a big bollocked man of the people but it isn't actually true.
Worse than that though, the spread of this attitude is actually utterly self defeating as the end result is populist liars getting into power, who prove to be 10 times more dishonest, less principled and more willing to lie and avoid scrutiny than what came before.
It is not a coincidence that we have the two most dishonest governments in the history of the UK and US in power at present and both leaders built their campaign around 'not being like these other politicians' and 'saying what others won't' whilst painting it as a type of honesty.

Ahh right your bias to particular party made you respond to my post!? That’s the problem with politics it’s tribal now like football I don’t give a toss about ANY party.

It is perhaps what the majority think and it has been popularised by certain parts of the media.
However, it is often quite uninformed. I can see honest, principled politicians, even in (mainstream) parties I totally disagree with. And if you really can't say the same then I would suggest you are taking enough of an interest and blindly parroting an unhelpful, and ultimately dangerous, cliche.
Can't you see where it has led the US and UK to at the moment?
