I agree to disagree too and understand your position but it's called kicking the can down the road.

Local increase in employment is not a good enough excuse to undermine our own position on carbon reduction and avoid extinction level climate change events. They can have concessions and an alternative industry with green credentials could be located there instead.

Sorry to jump in and take the thread away from Andrew Marr but this climate extinction Schtick is just that. A schtick.

THe whole climate thing is being used as a means to tax working people back into servitude. We are being taxed out of our own vehicles, taxed out of keeping our homes warm, and taxed out of our well earned holidays In the sun.

Now we have a former labour leader arguing against opening a coal mine in an economically depressed region in order to boost his middle class credentials.

The solution to climate change is simple.

You want less cars in cities? Close ¾ of the car parks and increase levels of public transport. This wouldn’t dramatically increase the tax take but it would absolutely reduce the cars on the road.
Less flights? Reduce the landing spots at British airports. Same again, won’t increase taxes but will reduce Consumption.

That’s what govts say they want isn’t it? Less cars and planes on the road and in the air? This would achieve that without smashing peoples taxes up.

It’s time for govts of all stripes to put their money where their mouths are. They wont though. The climate debate is purely a means to tax the air we breathe.

This is misleading. When asked whether we should pause or divert the vaccine program to younger adults she didn't say yes.

She said that we should send the 120 million surplus vaccine doses we have ordered- I have no idea if that is possible at the current time but it is quite different from what you think she said.

Not misleading at all she comes on at 38 mins 50 she is asked the question twice and direct answer is no we should not pause vaccination of younger people. The surplus vaccines you mention are not yet manufactured and most aren't approved
