Andrew Marr

Gong round in circles, do you accept the relationship or not between him and the Tories announced this week wasn’t pretty important. I think people absolutely need to hear this before they vote.

No more important than the fracking announcement, the NHS announcement, the social housing announcement, the benefit freeze announcement.

All electioneering all equally as important to me when assesing the election campaigns.

Although I am staunch labour and know who I am voting for, but I do enjoy politics and so like to watch it all qmd debate it, I do like balance and feel the greens are on ethat is unfairly marginalised for example while UKiP were given extra exposure in the past and then just ignored once farage left and they became ridiculous, I still thin kfarage is still given the same extra exposure now as then because of clicks and ratings.

Have him on by all means, but then have berry or batley on equally as much.

We moan about the two party dominance but how will the like sof the greens ever be a bigger party if they are never given the chance or equally exposure they have not had.

To ease your mind because balance is obviously your main concern here. Andrew Marr is a show on current political affairs, the news quotes stories of the day. This week the BXP so in effect Farage started his campaign. In that he told us his wish for a leave alliance, why he thought the deal by Johnson was not leaving and how he plans to run his campaign and seats he will running in.

This seems like something that should be discussed on Andrew Marr on this particular Sunday. Farage should be questioned on his stance. If the Greens make a similar move or state a new policy next week I hope they have them on.

Farage doesn’t like the deal? Thinks we will still be paying into the EU for years to come and be bound by their rules and regs? Well duh. What did Alan Partridge expect after three Brexit Secretaries, two Prime Ministers and a divided country?

Farage is missing the point that if we leave with no deal we'll still eventually have to strike a deal with the EU and we'll be in a more desperate position than we are now.

So this is the leader of the party - the strategy of which will likely determine whether Labour or the Conservatives form the next government - and you do not think that the BBC should not see catching his views for their audience as a priority.

Is the strategy of the Green Party going to determine whether Labour of Conservatives form the next government?

IMO this comes across as just more Remain/Labour hatred of Farage for the sake of it and nothing to do with reflecting balance

I despise him but his lies on Brexit only form part of the reason.

Wanting to leave the EU is a legitimate position to take but lying about immigrants and demonising them is unacceptable.

You know the depressing thing mate after months of Greta and extinction rebellion plus loads of coverage on the enviroment 6 posters on this forum have said they would vote Green and I’m one of them. The brexit party have 2 and half times as many votes and I’m not including leavers who may have decided to still vote labour or Tory. So any argument about exposure related to popularity to the electorate unfortunately would be no good to me and my stance but I’m not complaining about it.

So unfortunately a Caroline Lucas interview today, tomorrow or next week will result in zip. People are more arsed about remain or leave as is their right. There are 3 things that are the top of my list enviroment, a change in our political system and leaving the Eu which is a distant third but even thst related to the first two .I Think people who don’t have these same priorities are either stupid or self interested. However they have the same say as me which is pretty much fuck all.

I don’t try and change people’s minds because it’s pointless and it’s none of my business anyhow. Exposure isn’t what it is cracked up to be clearly.

His message will either be believed or not. We were discussing his right to be in the programme today, that is all.

Its probably the right time to say that in almost every single interview I've watched of Caroline Lucas the last few years and there have been many, she gets her fair share she has Barely spoken about the environment or Green policies and has literally banged the drum for remain.

She is seen as remain MP, not a Green MP and that is her own fault.

Farage isn’t missing the point. Farage is just fighting to stay relevant and to stay relevant he needs Johnson and the Tories to fail. Once people get comfortable with the idea of Brexit as leaving but nothing really changing (transition) then the chances of changing that dynamic reduce as does his influence as the one thing that will change will be his, and the Brexit Party’s, EU platform as our representation in the European Parliament will disappear (except perhaps for NI).

That is why I said berry or bartley not lucas , even for me her stance and focud on brexit has become tiresome

I think pointing to the number of MP's the Brexit party and/or UKIP hold is grossly unfair, given our utterly wank voting system. The reality is that Farage is the principal mouthpiece for around 25%, possibly up to a third of the active electorate on the EU and he therefore deserves a prominent position in the media on the subject around the GE.

Soooooo

This is a reply to my post to @urban genie which was about:

"....So this is the leader of the party - the strategy of which will likely determine whether Labour or the Conservatives form the next government - and you do not think that the BBC should see examining his views for their audience as a priority."

And asking:

"......Is the strategy of the Green Party going to determine whether Labour of Conservatives form the next government?"

And what is the content of your reply?

Is it anything to do with the content of my post?

No - it is deflecting entirely from that content and bringing up:

".......lying about immigrants and demonising them is unacceptable."

Is this not sailing very close to the use of whataboutery to deflect - which apparently is something that you have very strong views about?

Does not seem that long ago you were saying:

".....Whataboutism is a terrible form of argument and it’s the lowest form."

Horses for courses mate. Plenty of places to discuss politics elsewhere so a football forum should ne a place of sanctuary.

This isn't a football forum, this is the politics sub forum. We don't talk football here.

The football forum is upstairs ;-)

Correct. Its upstairs because its more cerebral;)

I must confess that I normally give the politics discussions on here a wide berth but in my naivety I thought that this thread might be about Andrew Marr possibly thinking he had had another stroke.

I find your posting style tired, I find it boring really and I find it usually as a technique to deflect at every opportunity.

The point was that you said remainers hate Farage for the reason of just hating him and I was sharing my reasons for disliking him.

It had nothing to do with whataboutism but again, you’ve dug up an old post of mine and have missed the context.

Bit desperate that

Old post you say

It was on the previous page - about 2 hours old at the time

Now I have indeed done some searching and there really are some good examples which I have made a note of in case they disappear

Hahaha you’ve ‘made notes’ of people’s post?

Yes old post, and one in which isn’t related to this point and nor does it have any need to be mentioned.

You stated remainers hate Farage for the sake of hating the man and I said why.

I don’t know why you’ve made a big song and dance about it.
