Hudl is cheaper and does the same, has HDMI for connecting to telly. Tesco.

You get what you pay for, and the hudl is cheap. Nexus 7 is the way to go.

Took the plunge and got a tablet about a month back. Did my research and settled for a Pipo Max 1. Its a Chinese tablet but is fulfilled by Amazon. Its absolutely fantastic. Arrived rooted with all leads (apart from mini HDMI) even a nicely applied screen protector.

You'd be har pushed to get a better tablet at this price. Its aluminium as well.

I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 last week. Argos have a deal on where you get £40 voucher. Not sure if it's still on. It wasn't advertised very well.

I was given a Kindle Fire HD which was so crap (both as an e-reader and a tablet), that I gave it to my five year old. In fairness to him, he thinks it's crap too.

If you intend to use it primarily for reading books, I'd get a Kindle Paperwhite (which is great). If you're after a tablet rather than an e-reader, you can't go wrong with one of the Samsung Galaxy models.

Try ebuyer for the Hisense sero 7 pro. £119 for a tegra quad core nexus clone with hdmi out,32GB on board and jelly bean 4.1 on board. Full google play market unlike HDX .

I was looking into this a few weeks back and I don't think the Kindle is as good as some of the other models out there. I'd get a Nexus if I had to choose, but I decided I don't need one.
