Andy Murray

Great result. He definitely seems to keep calm these days. No longer does he get angry with himself.

4TH CONSECUTIVE GRAND SLAM FINAL!!

Think about that.
It's some going given how strong the men's game is. However, for the amount of money the LTA pump into our youngsters it is fucking shocking that Murray is our only hope. I reckon Robson will be a contender, but only if she puts the work in that Murray has.

I think it is more of a cultural problem and a mentality thing. Most people are detached from the sport as see it as a at arms reach spectator sport rather than something they can get involved in themselves. The money issue is actually a disadvantage as it is actually a reflection of the British society where things are made very easy with financial support and benefits so players lose respect for the honest grafting and personal investment and sacrifice required to make it at the top.

France and Spain have tennis ingrained in their culture and way of life, whereas it is seen as a posh sport that is not meant for the masses in Britain. This unfortunate and completely false mentality has to change.

Murray is a special talent and a one -off but at least you can hope that his incredible success will inspire more youngsters to get into the sport. Because at the end of the day, tennis is for everybody and is a great sport not just for sporting entertainment but also for fitness and developing a competitive edge among youngsters.

Well done Murray, he has his work cut out on sunday Djokovic is a machine.
So is Murray by his performance tonight. He took the Pole's major weapon (serve) away from him, found the Pole's slight weakness on the backhand and exploited it. Two years ago he would have lost that - not now.

Murray has changed his mentality over the last 2/3 years, he doesn't get pissed off and frustrated with himself as much now. The old Murray would lose focus on the match after a couple of bad points.

That wasn't too boring was it?

Never any guarantees but I've got a feeling it could be a bit of a five set classic on Sunday. After all the first week shocks, we've ended up with the two best players in the world in the final.

Small point but everyone including the commentators and Murray were talking about Janowicz complaining that he wanted the roof shut but I heard nothing to suggest that. Admittedly the microphones didn't pick up everything he was saying to the umpire but it just seemed to me, he was wanting an idea of what time it would be shut, which is fair enough.
