As well as his music, and his football allegiance, and his reporting on Lancashire’s cricket exploits, I will also remember those 1980 interviews he did with John Lennon.

He always came across as a really enthusiastic, affable and highly listenable radio presence.

When I was a teenager in the 1970s ,my 2 main passions were City and Northern Soul ( and young ladies as well).
So I had a lot of time and interest in listening to Andy's broadcasts on Piccadilly Radio 261.
R.I.P. Soul Brother.

As I said in the other thread, he played a lot of stuff that wasn't in the charts at the time, which helped introduce me to a lot of older artists. He also had a passion for MCFC and Lancashire cricket. A man of taste and discernment. RIP.

I always associate Andy Peebles with driving home late at night? I worked away quite a lot many years ago & he was often on the radio when I was driving home but I have no idea which station, seemed like a good bloke & he had a very distinctive voice, R.I.P.

Great bloke, My mate Frank was a big mate of his and me being a hanger on, we used to get invited into the Piccadilly Radio studios when Andy did his Soul Train show on a Sunday night, followed by pizzas all round.
A big Blue as well. RIP Andy.
