Andy Townsend

I'm sending this to talksport - I am not expecting anything back.

Adrian/Mickey

A lot has been said over the last few days re Nigel De Jong in general and his tackle on Sunday. Let me first say I wish Ben Arfa all the best and a speedy recovery but as a City fan I feel NDJ’s treatment over the last few days has been pretty shocking in that many so called experts all of a sudden have become mind readers and know exactly what De Jong was thinking before he made the ”unnecesary malicious tackle”. I actually don’t understand how any tackle can be unnecessary – if the challenge had not injured Ben Arfa and City had gone on to score a goal (after all De Jong won the ball and play went to another City player who was then fouled) would it have still been an ”unnecessary” tackle?

In order that the radio station can claim to be unbiased (as you often do) I wonder if you would look through the following 2 articles from respected journalists – one of whom used to work for your station – and give you comments on them. I look forward to hearing them. If you could pass the articles onto Mr Collymore I would also be interested to hear what he thinks.
