What an unbalanced and Out of context piece of poor journalism this is. References to Flag Draped Coffins coming home from Afghanistan, Bereavement, Cancer stricken Children, to name a couple of inappropriate Images used by this amateur hack, just to get her warped and prejudice Heroine viewpoint over. If she was rooting for controversy for flying in the face of public opinion I think this article reached its mark.6 pages of angry comments already printed below the article last time I looked.

The man was wronged by another man. As a man i know this. My girlfriend even knows this. You probably know this too but why let the truth get in the way of some good old fashioned attention seeking journalism.

How you can compare this situation with going to work when you're ill or a loved one has died is beyond me? There is no comparison. If you had to work with the man who killed your wife or gave your daughter AIDS you would have reason to compare. But that rarely happens so your spurious attention seeking observations very, very poor to say the least.

You even go on to compare playing alongisde a man you hate, for a team you have no duty to play for with a parents anguish at the thought of a dying child when flashback to a war he's returned from. Sickening and cheap is all i will say about that.

There is nothing spineless about snubbing the man who had sex with your ex wife, the Mother of your child. On the contary; in fact, shaking his hand as a plastic gesture would have made him spineless. Sticking to his believes and not backing down for the sake of people like you makes him a bigger man and is why the City support love him for it.

I'm sure our approval means much more to him than does yours.

My sentiments exactly. Whoever the woman is who wrote the editorial, she's obviously got her issues with what happened. She's way of the mark, and I'm sure there are plenty of intelligent and articulate WOMEN out there who will disagree with her...

However the homophobia, and misogyny in this thread is appalling. Clearly those of you posting those comments have never met a beautiful, intelligent, articulate, and most importantly, football mad, young woman.
