I don't agree. Why would clubs loan young players if it scuppered the HG status. Loads of examples of City signing 17/18 year olds and then sending them on loan. If that loan didn't count they would not get 36 months.

I agree it is murky as hell but if that time didn't count they wouldn't do it. Loans must count. Surely.

Would be best you name one of those 'loads of examples' and I could directly comment on that individual case.

City's loan players nowadays are either already HG when they go out on loan (Manu Garcia, Roberts, Harrison, Smith, Barker, Tosin)
or they have joind City too late to become HG anyway (Arzani, Palaversa, Itakura, Douglas Luiz).

An old case would be Alex Garcia who went to Girona instead of becoming HG for City, for game time reasons IIRC.

None of our suberb prospects went directly on loan (Garcia, Gomes, Bernabe, Muric) maybe for the reason to become club-trained HG first
before going out on loan to get minutes and develop as a personality.
Or being integrated in our senior squad. Or leave like Diaz and Sancho. Such is life.

Denayer must be in that camp. Did Manu get 3 years with us (signed same time as Alex?) - I'm not counting but I doubt it.

Who's tracking the plane? Where's that guy who lives in the bins outside where we do our medicals? Who's on blue cone watch?

This used to be the stage of a transfer where I started to worry about the level of commitment and knowledge some of you had towards stalking people.

It was a skip actually

Um you seem lost. If we actually bought Jesus that summer and then loaned him out for 3 years he would be club trained. We didn't though. You are absolutely wrong to argue that time on loan does not count as part of the three years.

No it absolutely does not.

Don't know what your on about. Players on loan aren't registered with 2 clubs only the parent club, if I own a house and lease it for a year I’m still the registered owner. The tennant has a lease.

Ah yes we all know that housing law is the same as registering footballers for the champions league. Any more pearls of wisdom in there? Walking your dog the same as contract negotiations? Hanging the washing up the same as a rondo?

In order to play football for a professional squad, you have to be registered in that teams squad for that season. So we might own Jesus contract, but when he is playing for Palmeiras he is registered in the Palmeiras squad. That means he is not registered in the Manchester City squad. If he is not registered in the Man City squad, or any of our Youth teams, he is not being trained by the club. Therefore he is not earning time towards being club trained.

If he was registered in the Man City squad AND the Palmeiras squad whilst on loan, he could play for both teams couldn't he? And that would be silly.

You could just check transfermarkt: https://www.transfermarkt.com/gabriel-jesus/profil/spieler/363205 and see that he was registered to play for City from January 1st 2017, meaning it would for starters need to be January 1st 2020 before he was club trained and regardless, he is well over 21 now (and especially by 2020) so this is all academic.

Therefore, he is not club trained. Its really very very simple and frankly I'm tired of arguing with you, so I guess we'll just have to see when the squad is released.
