I will show my arse in Burton's window that white elephant comes in at £106 billion double it and add some more but hey what do we commies know is in not better to piss money down the drain on something new and shiny for the party faithful than actually help real people out.

burtons went years ago mate,

a bit like labour.

in mainland Europe I think

still get palomino jeans there if you are struggling

Lee Coopers for me, but I do like a good Rupert The Bear jacket to compliment my beige crimpline slacks and ever-shine slip on hush puppies. My biggest decision is polo neck jumper or a massive penny round collar.

As an aside, I don't buy this "lack of democracy" argument. The commission draws up proposals and the democratically elected parliament votes upon them. And parliament can ask the commission to bring forward proposals. It's not perfect, but it is not undemocratic.

But anyway, would you have been OK with a federal EU, if it was more democratic? Seems to me your objections go much further than disgruntlement with their form of democracy?
You might not buy it - I am very clear and I am certain that I am right - so let's just put it down to different interpretations

It was explained quite well by an MEP on the Adam Boulton show this morning - the parliament is by and large a rubber stamping governance function

So - I will go as far to say that it is not 'wholly' undemocratic - just nothing like as democratic as I would like to see

But you are right - I have 2 sets of issues/observations

I do not wish to be part of the federal superstate - mainly because I am sure that the project will fail before the construct is complete - so for me being separate from that superstate is a black and white issue.

Commenting on the form of 'democracy' that is reflected in the current model - no it is not very democratic in my opinion - but now that we are out I will not give much of a fuck.

If the EU wishes to be successful though, I suggest that it is badly in need of reform - and it looks like their only answer is 'more EU'

Well put. With Brexit, the brakes on progress to the super state will be off. I am/was a sceptical remainer. Naively, I thought that a strong UK gov could marshall support for putting democracy at the heart of the EU. Wrong! The fault lines are so great, that the EU will run into serious political trouble eventually. While certain countries are net beneficiaries, they will tow the line, but eventually they will break ranks. Poland, Greece, Austria, and Hungary have survived encounters with the EU steamroller (I nearly said jackboot) but the arrogance at the centre will overreach at some point. They came close to disaster with the launch of the orphan Euro: you really cannot launch a currency with no central bank to regulate it. The launch was entirely political; they believed the Euro would do for Europe what the dollar did for the US in binding the states to a single entity. All the stated rules for membership were junked to smooth its passage.
I have been disappointed that remainers have argued almost exclusively on the basis of economics and ignored the elephant in the room....it's politics, politics, politics.
Well said - and all spot on

exactly as it was for the original date of March last year.
Got the dog sorted.
Got my international driving licence.
Got my annual travel insurance with health cover.
Green card’s a bugger cos you can’t just ask for an annual one. You have to specify each travel period you want one for separately.
Three mobile have promised to continue with free roaming after Jan 2021.

It’s ****ing moronic and horribly embarrassing to us all, regardless of where you stand on Brexit.

It’s the equivalent of flipping over your and all your former colleagues desks after quitting, telling them all to **** off, and then going to work as a contractor for the same company.
