It's this mind numbing attempt to correlate election results here and in Poland that seems such a thing.

As spoon feeding seems necessary, here's the Law and Justhce policy on the EU (half a page in a big manifesto programme).

"Appreciating the importance and achievements of the European Union, we believe that it requires changes. For us, the European Union is first and foremost a union of states.

"We are in favour of a 'Europe of homelands'. We want to respect the treaties and respect the subsidiarity principle. We reject political correctness, that is, restrictions on freedom of speech and opinion that are strikingly painful in many European peoples, imposed today not only through cultural violence, but also through administrative actions and criminal repression. We do not accept uncontrolled erosion of the sovereignty of European homelands. We will defend our freedom strongly by introducing strong legal barriers against the possibility of such practices towards Poland. This is our Eurorealism."

In other words, we appreciate the EU except when it wants us to have an independent judiciary and not persecute gays.

But they do. That’s the point. They are not voting for him because he is a ‘Eurosceptic’. They are voting for him because he bashes gays and Jews. Poles have no desire, interest or inclination to leave the EU. The conflict with the EU is over an independent Judiciary and the Rule of Law.

You, and I presume the BBC, are projecting UK bias and terms onto Polish politics. Which in turn led to you celebrating the election of an anti-Semite because it suits your own prejudices.

Mountains of paperwork for customs. Growth industry of customs agents (who don't exist yet - so need to be trained). But, ooh, a "smart freight app" (that should be ready in about five years...)

Yep. It’s not just the infrastructure, it’s the staffing, the training, the IT systems, getting firms up to speed for what is an estimated 400 million declarations and grafting that onto a UK/EU supply chain that has evolved to be frictionless. 10,000 trucks a day is not a cargo load from China winding its way to the UK.

The cost alone is going to be staggering and we are attempting to do something we haven’t done in 30 years onto a supply chain that isn’t built for it. All this from a Govt that can’t get a Track and Trace App to work? Do me a favour and pass the popcorn.

No. Just the ones predominantly in small towns and over 60. Very hostile to abortion rights too. Seriously, you know sod all about Polish politics so quit while you are losing.

What are their views on mental health? I presume being a bit backward they use terms like fruit loops and other such derogatory terms?
 
Costs are starting to mount up. Source FT. Net contributions to EU 17/18 was £7.8bn. We are ultimately going to spend more money on administrating new trade barriers with the EU to allow us to trade less efficiently with the EU. Yep, that’s sounds like Brexit.
