“If it comes to a hard Brexit, this is in no one’s interest, but the British would be the big losers. They pretend it’s not like that, but it will be,” Mr Juncker told an Austrian newspaper this weekend.

Barely a post or thread on this sub forum where the man isn't played and is central to most opinions and arguments.

Bit late to moan about it now.

Whataboutism.

The gif/meme is the lowest form of debate on here so when someone uses one to play the man, rather than the affect of no deal, it just goes to show that he cannot back up an argument for no deal.

Don't give me that, you've "Liked" memes, gifs, and tweets from those that support your stance all the time.

What, you think I haven't noticed that little hypocrisy?

Have I ?

Tweets is very different because at least the tweet has content and is normally information related to the debate.

Conveniently ignoring the gifs/memes point, I see. You've liked gifs/memes dozens of times.

It just reeks of total snobbery.

An article in the Guardian that calls for Labour to include a refresh of English democracy in its manifesto. I agree with this, to me there is a real need for more focus and investment in English regions who should have their own Regional parliament. North, South West, South East, Midlands. Despite all the talk about 'northern powerhouses' I still believe inward investment is too London centric.

Behave mate for fuck sake. I didn’t ignore it.

I literally asked “have I ?”

I don’t remember liking one. I may have done on other forums/threads but I haven’t when it’s been in direct response to an argument.

Do you want to point one out ?

You have used that GIF rather a lot. Maybe you should also show one of Merkel 'shaking'?
Yes it's all a bit pathetic.
Maybe someone should respond with a gif of Johnson on a zip wire or knocking a child to the ground or maybe one of Farage gurning. It would all be about as relevant.

Would love to but the thread where you did so has been removed. It's always the way with you, isn't it. "Prove it", knowing full well the original thread has gone so you can claim innocence.

You've liked many a gif, when it suits your purpose. You deride gifs that "attack" your position. I've noticed you doing it and roll my eyes whenever you come out with comments like this. That's hypocrisy. This is the way of all memes. Discrediting them as being "the lowest form of debate" shows you're failing to see memes for what they are: statements presented in a new format to be interpreted. Like political cartoons in a newspaper, some can be very clever.

People say the same about sarcasm being used in debate. You're on a football forum, not newsnight. Discrediting one form of expression to demean another person's argument? It's snobbery.

What statement is made by showing Juncker struggling to climb a step, posted in response to a quote from him? Does it somehow discredit his quote?

I suspect it is a fatuous point suggesting that he might have a drink occasionally so it's not possible to take anything he says seriously, because no serious politician ever drinks alcohol.

It would be good if when we get a government whose priorities are to do this, there will still be funding sources available either from the treasury or from financial institutions that also pay tax to the UK treasury rather than into the coffers of a competitor nation.

Not if Johnson comes good on all his pledges - we will be more skint than 2009 at this rate. Unless he is just lying of course.
