I’d like to think a few of you will look back on this thread one day and cringe a little, because believe me, from somebody who pops in and out to read about what’s happening regards Brexit, it’s pretty cringeworthy the way the thread has gone.

It's kind of like kids being in each other's company too long and starting to turn on each other, in this thread and others. To be honest if I was Ric i'd be tempted to turn it all off for a few days.

This thread should indeed see the very depths of Mod towers deep dark recesses never to see the light of day again!

It should have done after the first incarnation of the thread was pulled, tbh.

Yeah, it's a bit painful to read at times. Grown men acting like school children! An enforced break might do a few people some good.

Barnier's comments yesterday about how the talks were progressing and the fallout from both sides on it, just highlights the whole nasty situation that has developed as a result of ego's, emotions, and hatred that has developed out of the situation. "Barnier's a hero! You tell those stupid Brexiteers! EU politicians so much better than UK ones!" "Barnier's an idiot! Can't wait for no deal now! A prime example of the EU's contempt for the UK!" Ugh...

Neither the EU nor the UK will give in to either's 'demands', as they're being called. The UK is being stubborn, the EU is being equally stubborn, and the cheerleaders from both sides will continue to reprimand their opponent whilst praising their advocate.

It's where we are now, this is the relationship the UK has with the EU going forward. I still advocate, as I always have, that we should have a closer partnership with the EFTA members, to have some avenue of conncetion with our partners who are current EU members, and feel that as time goes on, more and more people will see it as the logical compromise rather than being wholly separate from Europe or equally as extreme, rejoining the EU as a full member.

No deal it will be, for a while at least, until both sides come to their senses, realise what they can and cannot expect from the other as a realistic request, and acknowledge that we are both two separate entities now.

All roads, no matter how difficult or bumpy here lead to a deal imo.

Too much wonga at stake for the ruling political elite on both sides and its a game they all play.
