Don't worry we'll all be better off when the EU collapses or becomes a federal nightmare.

Just don't hold your breath.

What a steaming pile of horseshit.
They've also announced the closure of their Barcelona plant since 2016. At least the Mackems deserve it, the Spaniards didn't even get to vote in the referendum.

Sunder
Fuck - fucking morons - they need naming and shaming in the local press

Do we have a local contact????
Sunderland Echo might be able to help you - personally I am not the sort of twat to heap even more misery on someone - you seem to enjoy it...................nice.

I think you answered your own questions - predictably. So why the need for my input? Keep some thoughts in your head if you already know the answer that you want.
No - your answers is what we all wait for whilst holding our breath....

You are the most frequent poster on these threads

Your are the self-proclaimed oracle (well apart from 2 or 3 others)

Etc.

No - what I want is for you to reply in a manner that makes me say words to the effect......

"....Fair enough - good come back - appreciate that....

I can now see that you are indeed well-balanced and objective - my apologies...."

I just asked those questions so that you can give me reason to indeed make those statements

So you will surely want to answer them??

Surely you want me to make those statements???

....Of course if you don't - you cannot be surprised if people draw their own - perhaps utterly erroneous - views on why you dodge answering?

"all waiting for" ????? FFS you have an ego don't you? Absolutely no-one cares about you or me - I am afraid you seem to have cast yourself in the non-existent role of Bluemoon Influencer....

Barcelona made vans so they weren’t in competition with Sunderland. They decided to consolidate van making in Europe with Renault after years of losses in Barcelona. No real comparison with Sunderland which was profitable but unsurprisingly can’t cope with the self imposed constraints in keeping supply chains running smoothly when we leave the Customs Union at the end of the year whether there’s a deal or not.
Having said that it’s still a rumour about Sunderland and I hope it doesn’t get confirmed but we seem to be doing our best to try and scare off multinational companies from operating in the UK.

the plot thickens

I did wonder when I saw the source was my pet hate (twitter) and appeared to be an anonymous 'manager' quoted by a pro EU twitter account and seemingly nowhere else anywhere. I suspect there is some truth in it - the future of production in the NE might be in doubt for many reasons - covid/economic downturn, move to electric cars, centralisation of EU production. I suspects it's all these things and more and not really to do with brexit if it is true. Having said that it's also quite possible that uncertainty around brexit may be the 'straw that breaks the camels back' in terms of the Sunderland plant if it's already on a knife-edge.

I still say the guys who live around me and work there have little faith in the longevity of the plant - they know the effect of delayed stock on production lines - its a rare occurrence ...breakdowns etc can cause it ... but they know a few months of stock delivery times that cannot be relied upon are a disaster to the profitability of the plant - thats before you add in tariffs.

AKA - you are dodging a perfectly reasonable request

Don't worry - we all know the answer - and TBF - if you had said anything else other than:

"....no I absolutely accept that I am utterly not open-minded on any of these threads......"

Then that would have only invited questions about veracity/integrity

So best to plead the 5th - but of course we all know the truth;-)
Gosh. This is remarkably similar to the challenge @Vic put on you. @bluethrunthru is reluctant to engage with you, you are reluctant to engage with @Vic. What’s the difference?

For what it’s worth and to be balanced, you are all in the wrong IMO. Fuck sake guys, this forum is a microcosm of the country, if fellow blues delight in kicking lumps out of each other, what hope is there for anyone. Now ffs let’s wind collective necks in and play nice. There is plenty going on to discuss factually without trying to prove who has the largest intellect/ vocabulary or cock.
now having pissed all three of you off I shall exit.

There I go mate, jumping in again!

Yes you do - and no - IMO, you are not balanced - despite your attempt to suggest so in this post

But as you say - it is your habit. And of course you are true to form by jumping in on one of my posts - but not previously Vic or on any occasions ever - any other Remainer - so yes, you are at least consistent.

As I have previously suggested - if you are going to play the role of thread policeman, I suggest that to be credible then you need to show some genuine balance and jump in on the post of someone else - you have had plenty of opportunity to pull up Remainers for unnecessary goading - and never have

But - there is an obvious difference and it is on page 4479 - I was just pointing out his needless and hypocritical post that was making a snide reference to me. I already have a stalker - I don't need another

And also you draw a convenient comparison that is erroneous - Vic wanted me to engage with him and banged on

I don't want to engage with this fella I do not expect anything other than for him to run for cover - I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of his needless post

He is not going to reply

I don't want him to reply - and don't need to pursue the point further - because all posters, I suspect including you, know the answer. I just wanted him to know that if he makes further needless personal attacks I will point out his hypocrisy

No. not thread policeman at all. Just frustrated at having to wade through some of the shite on here and reacting to that. Once again, its an open forum which means you can comment on anything you read. There is no 'jumping in' as far as I am concerned. I will continue to comment whenever, to whoever about whatever I choose.

Now I'm off for a cup of tea and self reflection to challenge wether I am being open minded and fair.

Most of the crap that you have to wade through must come from Remainers because it is a simple fact that the majority of posts are from Remainers as Leavers have largely given up on the thread and there are only a couple more to be got rid of.

To help with your reflection

IMO - You will know that you have demonstrated open-minded and balanced behaviour when you can point to the several 'interventions' that you have made on posts from Remainers - until then.........;-)

Unfortunately you have to read it all before you get to the only relevant paragraph.

“No-deal Brexit would not cause as much damage as inflicted by the pandemic earlier this year. However, the LSE modelling estimates a reduction in GDP worth 8% over a decade compared with remaining in the EU”

LSE modelling, Imperial College, The Treasury and pretty much all economic forecasts exist only to give astrology a good name.

Best ignore the modelling then and just make it up as you go along hoping for the best.
