“The party of business”.

Has become “the party of populism”.
They’re what they’ve always been. A ruthless political machine that wants to be in power, and will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal. Look at Thatcher. They still talk in reverential tones about her and would, no doubt, ‘have her back tomorrow’ were that possible. Conveniently forgetting that as soon as she became a potential liability they took her out the back and shot her...

Which is why when i play it forward i just don't see how Boris wont get shot out that back within 6 months.

If we crash out and go into a recession the first action we will need to sort out the mess is a deal with the EU. The terms on offer will be the terms on offer now WA inclusive of backstop and with full payment of £39bn. Boris will be under massive pressure to climb down off his horse of lies and accept the terms, every day he doesn't will wreck more havoc and pressure will just grow and grow.

Almost certain to be in official recession when the next results are announced early November. As I have said many times - what on earth do tory strategists come up with when they play this forward. If we crash out in October and we go straight into a recession how do they spin that...
Semantics, the last resort, nay the only resort. When Rumpole of the forum deigns to talk down to us plebs, doing his utmost to emulate George Sanders as Shere Khan, the substitution of facts for vain-glorious and pompous hyperbole can be categorised as attention-seeking wumming. Music to the ears of his coterie of "likers" but then, what else do they have to keep their tissue of "fabrications" together? They still do not admit the ref. was a smash-and-grab heist by the brexit media barons with their Blatant lies and hi-jacking of social media, crowned by their racist trolling, which created the victim-hood culture that became the brexit campaign staple. "They called us racists, they called us thick, they called us likl englunders," when in truth the media was responsible for these slogans. The no-deal stampede is running out of steam , as every day brings into the public domain the scale of the disaster at the bottom of the cliff, unless sanity prevails and someone, anyone ffs, pulls the communication cord....

Blame it on Brown's Labour government................?

Isn't the troublesome thought that Bojo isn't pushing for no deal withought the calculated perception of being able to push that trough? I don't think the Brexit vote gave a mandate for a no deal, the leave camp foremost presented a leave scenario with some sort of deal right? But Bojo's attempt is very ambitious i would say in terms of a sheer powergrab and i presume that it can be a matter of a lot of backhand strategic lobbying. Would a VoNC succeed with the devissions among other party's?

Assuming we do crash out the Tories will turn on the spending taps. Infrastructure, hiring, financial support for industries and agriculture. You put the economy on a ‘war’ footing and pump money into it to keep it from sinking.

I asked how you came to the that conclusion not where you read it. On the other hand at least you are paying attention so I’ll put that in the win column :)
I always read other people’s posts. Sometimes I even google the subject they are going on about. That way I know if I’m about to be a victim of ‘fake news’

That would get you half a days positive coverage before we switch back to the endless stream of negativity - real time stories coming out of all sectors of the economy who just can't continue and make a profit, how long do they go before they shut the factory/plant/lab/shop/farm gates...

I think you’ll find that the 1/5th of one percent contraction is due simply to fact the companies who stockpiled previously didn’t need to resupply for the following months.
Conversely the previous growth in economic activity which was trumpeted by the Brexiteers as proof that Project Fear was bollocks was simply the additional manufacturing to do the stockpiling in the first place. The reality is that our GDP growth has fallen from near the top of the EU table to near the bottom since the vote.

Next time I’ll post a link for you. Always happy to help out. Here is a link to the latest Quarterly GDP figures I posted earlier.

The ONS? I used data from the very same source and was told it was a stooge of the government.
Here's some data on that EU powerhouse, Germany.
