My opinion on bluemoon doesn't really make a difference to how we negotiate a trade deal mate, what will be will be. Having a positive outlook won't change the fact that we're going to be worse off because of brexit
No but keep banging on about it is pointless and worse than that, depressing. Whatever happened to a bit of positivity and making the best of it? Would that not be a better way to try to look at things?

I can't ignore the facts chip, I'm sorry mate. I really hope I'm proven wrong for all of our sakes though

If Johnson does go down the Brino route as some are suggesting he will, how long before Farage raises his ugly head?

I thing the size of the majority kills off Farage. To be cynical if the Tories wanted to consolidate new voting blocs then the best route is minimal impact Brexit via Brino which also avoids divergence impacts and potential trouble in NI and Scotland. Farage and the Brexit party also lose their platform in the EU Parliament.

I know a lot of remain voters that want the referendum to be respected. It is a bit of a stretch to ask them to be positive about a version of it that, from the governments own analysis, hasn’t got much positivity to it though and has now got nationalist parties as majorities in both NI and even more so in Scotland.

Personally I’m pleased it can at least move to the next stage now and I am very interested to see what Johnson does now he has the majority that means he doesn’t need to pander to the ERG. There’s nothing to hide behind now, it’s all on him. We’re going to move past sound bites into reality.

I do hope labour can sort themselves out quickly to provide some kind of credible opposition - that’s needed more than ever with a government that isn’t particularly forthcoming with its own analysis and scrutiny. I highly doubt they will though.

One things for certain, with a big majority and the eurozone gradually sliding towards a recession we now have a much better chance of getting a good deal. Even the remain based BBC seem to have acknowledged that.

The size of the majority is irrelevant to the quality of the deal.

The deal is binary. The more access to the EU market you want the greater the regulatory alignment. The only positive about the size of the majority from the EU’s point of view is that they will have confidence that whatever is agreed it will get through Parliament.

I dissagree , it enables the British government to call the EUs bluff, something they haven't been able to do so far. They have been lent on by the remainers and the ERG. Now they can hopefully get a decent deal, we need regulatory alignment just not controls over out tax etc

No, evry deal comes with fixed rules. Only difference a majority makes is Johnson can trade more access for more rules without worring about Francois and Rees mogg throwing spanners.

Don't be silly, a big majority with no erg or remain Mps tieing his hands means he can be alot tougher in negotiations. Parliment was acting to the benefit of the EU. That won't happen now. Goodness I can't beleive how some are unable to grasp these simple things.

Think you’re wrong lets see,Think Boris will be smudging those red lines as we speak. He’s given himself a year to get it done , he won’t go for no deal and he knows he can compromise where he likes. Wanted a hung parliament personally but think his big majority will result in a softer Brexit which suits him as he was never a convinced hardline leaver.

This big majority came in large part from leave areas. There is not a chance it will be a softer brexit as that goes against all of those new conservative seats and areas. If he basically does a labour and moves towards brino he would lose all of that support

I think your just wishful thinking

He’ll go for a soft Brexit and lie that it’s a hard one to keep everyone happy.
It will work.

I don’t think the details of any eventual Brexit deal matter to most people, they won’t analyse or scrutinise it, as far as they are concerned Brexit is done and that is that
