The thing that bores me the most on here is the need for links to James O’Brien and the guardian etc
It’s like everyday some people look in the remainer echo chamber for something to make them still feel they are right
It ain’t changing brexit but if you get to feel these ‘little victories’ then so be it
Through association - I suspect that O'Brien - although an obnoxious twat - makes some on here feel less inadequate

Why the fuck wouldn’t I?
I live here and I want my kids to have decent careers here. If we end up with no deal and it’s as shit as I think it will be, they will probably emigrate. Why would I want that?

And you think that is the same for everyone on here?
Doesn’t come accross thAt way at all

Ok whatever you say
I’m pretty sure however bad it may possibly get it will still be ten times better than your worst case doomsday predictions

Thats hardly likely but we will see - glad to see you can admit it will be bad though.

I can only speak for myself.

Being a smug **** saying I told you so on here is fairly low on my list of priorities if things go pear shaped.

I will do that of course after all the shit from the “winners” that we’re having to endure at the moment but it won’t make up for less income and higher prices.

I’d much rather it was a roaring success but I just can’t see it, especially with Johnson and his band of fuckwits leading the EU negotiations and the country.

Well for all our sakes let’s hope it’s a massive success then

The very notion that some people want the general public to be worse off is ridiculous. It’s like the claim that higher Covid death rates were being celebrated just so people could criticise the government. No one wants those things.

Seems like these people judge others by their own standards. They think in a certain way and assume others think the same.

It's fucked up.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that that is what's going to happen apart from anti-American rhetoric from usual suspects.

You will still have the notion of choice. Information has to be provided by law. Any concerns, you can inquire. Disagree and you can refuse the product. Its making a mountain out of a molehill. I do not believe for one second that food standards are going to drop, especially when you consider this is the same US that wants to do a deal with the EU.

Why is it not a concern when the EU wants a deal with the US, but becomes one when the UK does?

I think it was an utterly ridiculous post like this that meant I said something that made MB put me on ignore. I've always been sorry about that, but whatever I said can't be worse than how I reacted to this. Of course standards are going to drop - this is in the thread today because they are.

I assume you'll sign the petition (maybe not if you don't believe your eyes and ears).

Some people would rather be right than better off.
As for criticism of the government I think we all have issues with aspects of the handling of the pandemic but some people just wanna go in on absolutely everything.
Like listing deAth rates for 48 hours and when they drop listing it for 72 and then 96, basically anything to make it appear even worse (bear in mind any deaths are awful anyway)

I genuinely don’t think anyone wants a higher death toll or for people to be worse off. To suggest otherwise is pretty reprehensible imo.

Another stupid argument. Anyone who wants Brexit, let alone a No Deal Brexit, wanted to damage the UK for ideological reasons.

I don't necessarily think that's true - but it's true that I think their actions have damaged the UK, and the current willingness to have No Deal will further damage the UK. And I think that even if they don't want that, they're quite ready for it - collateral damage in order (it seems from the latest obsession on fairness) to have an immigration policy that lets in more black people and fewer white people.

Its the same mentality that decides everyone who supported Labour is a member of Momentum..............a line pedalled all the time. I haven't been a party member since @93 and have never been a member of Momentum - except in the fantasies of the usual crew.

Maybe they don’t want it higher but they certainly don’t mind using it and presenting it in a way to further their political beliefs and make things seem worse
Also pretty reprehensible imo

It’s a political discussion forum. Do you expect people to ignore it? And how can it be worse? Even using the minimum figures, it’s hard to make 40,000 deaths look anything other than catastrophic when every other country in the world bar the US has done better than us, and arguably they have as well based on rates per million. And they don’t even have a functioning central government.

Why did you leAve in 93 out of interest?

Preposterous.

Nobody voted in any referendum or GE with a view to the result meaning they are on the right side rather than better off. That statement in itself shows the stupidity of your argument
