TBF - I think that there will need to be a rethink of collective nouns

You appear to have the ability to be objective in your analysis and progressive in your views and attitudes:

I do not really consider therefore that you are compatible with the mindset of the Remainer cadre on this thread

a lot of remain voters have lost the plot. They lost the argument and resort to insults and sneering at anyone with a different view. Until they stop that they will keep losing. Right now they are in meltdown mode

I think most have given up even trying to argue back with people who just don’t accept anything that doesn’t go there way.

Thankfully most remain voters are over it.
There are five or six on here who can’t let it go and spend every day copying and pasting about how bad it will be.
That’s why for the most part people have given up responding to them

Oh ffs, we've always sought to reassure EU citizens here that they would be ok, it's the EU that have been playing games with the status of Brits in the EU. It's you who has no idea apparently - just making rubbish up now.

No-one responds except to complain that it's somehow wrong to say No Deal will be bad because it's unpatriotic or too late or irrelevant or losers' howling or (mcfc1632) it's our fault anyway for not accepting a deal he told us was unacceptable and (the most stupid of all the tropes) "if you hadn't kept saying Leavers were thick we'd have been sensible and changed our minds".

No one gives a fuck what most Brexit enthusiasts on here have to say because it’s unusual to find anything of substance amongst the sneering, gloating and denial of reality.

How is it the EU's fault?

40% of applicants to the scheme only getting pre-settled status and if you're not aware of the individual cases perhaps you've been reading the wrong papers or just avoiding them.

Yeah nothing says reassure like ‘oh we are changing your legal status and right to remain here’.
 
This thread is a bit surreal. Surely the only thing worthy of debate on here is how will the UK look post 2020. What kind of deal will we get if we get one. If no deal, how will that look and what mitigations will be in place. What relationship will we have with Europe post transition phase. Everything else is history, fluff and trolling.

Well it would be nice to talk about the future but good luck finding people to talk about it.

I thought it would be useful to talk about our decision to not have full custom controls at the border on 1st Jan and what this said about our level of preparedness. I was told it had been Govt policy for three years, that it wasn’t a u-turn, despite the Govt saying the opposite in February, and something about French chicken farmers.

It's true to the extent that there is nothing happening right now other than the slow and inevitable failure to get a good trade deal. We must wait until Jan 1 where we will then get the inevitable failure to be ready for WTO or whatever limited arrangements are agreed.

So we wait but we will not ignore the political fall out. A lot was said to get us to this point. We are about to find out what it really means (and we all know its going to be shit). Politicians have to answer for the mess they make of things.

Exactly right. Having posted about the consequences of No Deal a few times and the impact of not having the appropriate infrastructure in place, all we get from a succession of Brexit enthusiasts is that we’re talking the country down, we want it to fail and all we need is some enthusiasm for Brexit (aka Oomph). There should be a separate thread for Brexit fans only where they can gloat and sneer to their hearts content where people who want to discuss what might actually happen can easily avoid. Instead they come on here and spout the same repetitive bollocks day after day.

Apply for pre-settled status. Simples. Anyone who doesn't get it is not getting it because they are not entitled. Have you looked as closely at provision for UK citizens in the EU? - thought not. So bitter and twisted it's laughable.

Neither are Norway and Switzerland and they have applied to join the scheme. We have also been invited to join but you know...maps.

At some point ‘virtual signalling’ versus dealing with a pandemic or reviving the economy starts to wear thin.

Did you not even read the first sentence?

It's costing every one of us if UK businesses can't reboot tourism. "Government supports travel and tourism redundancies rather than join EU scheme."
