The German Marshall Fund did it. It’s an American think tank.
I’m not upset. I find it comical that some Brexiteers take comfort from what the American man in the street thinks. The same people that voted in Trump. If it makes you happy, who am I to argue.
Well we're both happy then, you're happy thinking the Americans are
irrelevant, I'm happy that they think we're more important than the two
Biggest countries in Europe. And now we've left their pay to enter Co-op,
those two can view this news exactly as they like, so joy all round.

Where have I said that I think the Americans are irrelevant. What’s irrelevant is what a snapshot of the American general public think. In normal circumstances it’s the view of the American establishment and business that’s important. Probably slightly different with Trump in charge.

I know you don't want it to appear important, but it says that they believe
Britain to be more influential than these two places, if this question
were asked in any African country, or most Asian, I believe the answer
would be the same.

I hope they’re all correct in their view.

Is that the Americans that elected Trump and a large number of believe creationism and the world is flat?
Is that also the Americans who have protested against his Presidency every single month in some form or another?

We have the same nutballs regarding flat earth here in the UK and across Europe. Somewhat prejudiced of you, there.

This may be a daft question, but can the Commonwealth have trade outside the EU without worrying whether we have a deal with the EU?

Or is that something that’s archaic these days?

I genuinely don’t know the ins-and-outs of world trade. I only know a small part of how much we trade away our own goods that are barely bought by our own people (which is bonkers!).

aren't we supposed to be the Billy Bigbollox now we have left? The freedom to do our own deals etc etc

All about comparisons

It is far better than any deal that involves continuing controls by the EU over the UK

I wonder what people make of the ending of the new/current round of negotiations early?
Celebrating last night's result?
