the thing with fishing, in the grand scheme of things is its quite a small industry, it always was even in its hayday. but its being hailed as some massive country saving thing.
I think its been blown out of proportion tbh. The EU are doing quite niely out of the current arrangement and have also picked up on some brexiteers here attaching importance to it which makes it a source of leverage in negotiations. It's probably naive to think we can restore the industry here to it's pre-common fisheries policy state, but there is a sound environmental aspect to kicking EU boats out of our waters and letting stocks recover. As fish enjoy freedom of movement this would in the long term probably benefit all the people of Europe.

If this is anything like the reality then our Vote Leave Government have a big problem on their hands as attitudes are only going to harden as the folly of Brexit becomes blindingly apparent.

Poll indicates support for Brexit collapsing
But we voted for it in 2016 and it would be thoroughly undemocratic if we didn’t have the most extreme version of Brexit possible after transition.

Liz Truss demands that tariffs are ended on British made Ice Cream vans ......

The company concerned made 90 vans last year and exported 10.

The Tories are now officially grasping at more straws than a scarecrow trying to have a w@nk

I see the BBC's mission to explain includes explaining what an ice cream van is...

Seriously, is it April 1st?

This is truly pathetic, adding embarrassment to being a laughing stock.

That's the crazy thing, the Brexit voters voted against continued membership of the EU but they have no clue what they voted for.

Some might say that is a very stupid position to adopt, I won't comment.

Nope.
They all knew exactly what they voted for.
They keep telling us.

For the UK to be no longer politically entwined with an EU on a one way path to a federalist state.

Trade yes, political union no.

We won't ever agree on this but no matter how many times you ask and get told and then come out with they knew what they were voting for apparently line, we or should i say, I knew exactly what it was i voted for.

The UK ending its membership of the EU.

I've known all my adult life what i have voted for. Each and every time including the Blair governments that went to war and this Tory government who made it clear we would leave the EU.

Next time around i sincerely hope i'm in a position to know why i'm voting for a Keir Starmer led Labour government as well.

Are you saying you knew the consequences of a no vote or you don’t care as long as we’re out?

Im saying exactly what i have said.

I didn't want the UK to remain a member of the EU. I no longer wanted us to be in a political union. I didn't like the path the EU has been and still is taking. I believe we don't have to be involved with that.

Hence my vote for the UK to leave the EU.

Yeah, that's all well and good, but did you know what you were voting for?
