If extreme Remainers were any more sensible than extreme brexiteers then based upon parliamentary arithmetic May's deal would have sailed through. The fact is it just wasn't remain-ey enough. It's all getting boring now - when we do get a deal in the next few weeks, not only will one set of extremists be calling it a capitulation, but the others will no doubt be calling for it to be torn up in favour of an extension of the transition so they can have another crack at revoke/remain.
