that’s not really addressing the point.

we wanted a legal binding WA and FTA negotiated together which could have been done and ALL voted on and approved by parliament years ago.

the eu didn’t want to.

21 days to go it’s all the UKs fault we don’t have a FTA.

Mate, it took three years, two elections and two PM’s to agree the sodding Withdrawal Agreement, and that only went through because we agreed to leave NI behind in the EU.

That we would have negotiated a legally binding WA and FTA together, and in good time is simply to ignore the last four years. We can’t keep pretending issues away or inventing fantasy negotiations over what might have been.

The WA eventually went through because we gave the EU most of what they wanted. A future trade deal will only go through if we give the EU most of what they want. That’s the dynamic when you negotiate with an entity that is much bigger than you and has more leverage. Just like Canada with the US. It is what it is.

????? ".......... cant be arsed with the rigmarole of applying for an international licence."

Fuck - sorting that took me 10 mins last week - and cost £5.50

If you took a day off from moaning on these threads you could probably have time to do it for a bus load of people

Please refer to the earlier part of the thread. I have a pre existing medical condition which means that i have to get confirmation from the doctor that i'm fit to drive. ..... so thats a medical appointment plus the cost of issuing the letter easily £75... they can charge up to £125

It is the UK Brexiteers fault..... please explain why you think that we should get all the benefits of being in the Eu without actually paying anything. Because if that was the case there would be no point in being a member.

As was pointed out at the time (on numerous occasions) You cannot negotiate with yourself as a member of the other party (cos you would just veto anything that you didnt like) The WA had to be agreed first and signed off .... then the trade agreement would follow. Unfortunately the bit the Tories missed was that the Eu wanted it on their terms and their terms only. No trade deal to them means that they have simply removed a competitor from their marketplace.

You also played your part in it, so you are equally as responsible by your logic.

The UK and the EU not agreeing upon a deal is solely the responsibilty and cupability of those elected officials, from the UK AND the EU, for failing to agree.

I find it very odd you want to shift blame away from politicians tasked to acheive this aim, onto the electorate.
Blah blah blah. Leavers have to own it.

please explain how companies within the eu trade with companies in the US every second of every single day even though, wait for it.....

there is NO EU US FTA.

You can’t move for the cloying self pity...

I stand with millions of Britons that are deeply insulted at the shocking news that the German Chancellor has refused the British Prime Minister’s request for a telephone call. This is an insult to every Briton, whether they support our PM or not.

The EU’s contemptuous treatment of the UK makes it clear there cannot be a deal until it accepts the UK as a sovereign equal and awards us the respect and regard we merit.’ @
Kahn, Tory MP for Wakefield.

A mixture of WTO terms and bilateral agreements. Latest of which was done earlier this year.

Two of the three biggest trade partners for the US are Canada and Mexico, it’s near neighbours with each it has a comprehensive trade agreement, proving yet again, its important to get on with your next door neighbour.

These Tories are so fucking pathetic.

He'll be off to tell mummy and daddy that those nasty foreigners won’t play nice.

They are a fucking embarrassment.

It is funny to observe people who cry outrage whenever the UK government hands out a dodgy contract to private companies without tender and misuse the tax payers money.

But the same people seem to be fine with the EU accepting revenue from the UK who happen to be the 2nd biggest contributor within the EU (funded by the taxpayer) whilst being one of the lowest recipients of the budget. We might receive a rebate/funding which could be maybe half of what we contributed in the form of development grants etc.
that you claim equivalence of the two things is pretty mind blowing. There is a great deal factually wrong with your post that you could discover quickly using google. I wont waste my time doing it for you.

I do and I hope there is a deal. FTAs are clearly important that’s why we have signed 50 odd new ones

but let’s not continue the myth that if we leave the eu without a FTA that’s it , you no longer can trade within the eu cos it’s bollox.

global companies trade all over the globe under FTAs and without them

companies within the EU trade with the US , China and Australia and there is no FTA deal with these countries.(even if boris thinks there is an Aussie one)

if we leave the eu without a deal companies in the uk will still trade with companies in the eu (and visa versa) , but let’s hope they get a deal and it’s not to coin a phrase, a shit show.

but hey let’s hope there is a deal because that would be better.

I have never said we wouldn’t trade. There will just be more barriers, red tape and costs. All we are doing is negotiating how high the trade barriers will be. Very high-No deal. Lower-Deal. For services it will even more of a shitshow as the deal on offer has very little for services.

The biggest issues will be things like adapting to exist outside the EU regulatory zone and trying to create our own from scratch, an unnecessary and costly duplication.

That BMW’s will cost a bit more is minor stuff. Food cost increases will be more problematic, though.

It will be the little, unforseen things that catch us out and minor costs that pile up for smaller businesses.

Amazing point you've made backed up with nothing. Congrats
Backed up with knowledge of the facts mate. That you are posting this type of rubbish at this stage is pretty funny. Someone tried to point out the value of our membership of the EU and you have completely ignored what was said. I wont be making the same error. Have a nice evening.
