The spin is already beginning about how the UK got a joint committee review on LPF/tariffs rather than the unilateral/lightning tariffs demanded bythe EU.
Word on the street is that the joint committee offer has been on the table from the Eu since last summer but even if it wasn't so what - the least I would have expected in the final agreement would have been a joint / independent review of any violation of LPF.

No, it's only available now because of our viable walkaway option.

No idea why we are bothering with this cut and paste of an existing deal. Shouldn’t we have pushed for ‘Australian terms’ and ‘prospered mightily’?

It is quite amusing that they get giddy every time we take another small step back towards what we threw away.
 
In other exciting news, Brexit Britain will become ‘a shipping hub for the world‘ and the Govt will demand Netflix register in the UK so we can monitor and regulate their content, apparently they were mean to the Royal Family in ‘The Crown’ or something.

Meanwhile it’s just over two weeks to the end of transition and Johnson still hasn’t made his mind up on the EU deal.

No rush, mate.

Canada/EU deal was circa 7 years.

It‘s taken the UK circa 4 years to get these cut and paste holdover deals in place.

Or did you think we went ’hang on, chaps, only a few months to go, shall we get started on these trade deals?’

Yeah, the dumb thing is though, that the team of officials who have been beavering away for the past few years to get these holdover deals over the line do deserve credit for doing so.

Yet such is the paucity of Brexit, a holdover deal based entirely on an existing EU deal with some extra bits added (Stilton cheese to Japan) is lorded as a triumph, even though it is clearly flagged the hard graft on a bespoke deal is yet to come. Not to mention we made concessions too.

The other disconnect is how these deals are hailed as good news and bring certainty for business (yes, they do), but a deal with the EU our biggest market is ‘meh, Australian terms, prosper mightily’, yet do they acknowledge this doublethink? Are they even capable of doing so?

The sheer stupidity of Brexit logic is a wonder to behold.
