How does Boris get out of the corner he has backed himself into? He has to do a deal but the ERG / tory headbangers have to be convinced its better than no deal and they may have to smell the rotting corpse of british manufacturing/farming first. Yes there will be a deal but maybe early January. He cant allow himself to get in a position where the ERG accuse him of not pushing hard enough. So he does the deal he could have done 6 months ago once the shit starts to hit the fan.
Maybe that’s why he’s leaving it until the very last minute, so that’s virtually no time for it to be scrutinised in Parliament? That said, he probably doesn’t need the ERG on board anyway if Labour back it, as expected.

Just this country, eh? Then you're assuming incorrectly again.

Presenting passport checks as an inconvenience in the way you and others were and then expecting sympathy for it, backfired on you. When you presented the argument that "it's easy for so many people, therefore travelling is not a privilege" i'd say you're right, you DIDN'T think about others around the world.

I was thinking about others and those like myself, around the world, hence the statement. To me, travelling abroad for recreation definitely is a privilege people enjoy, and they are welcome to enjoy it, so long as they acknowledge that it is not something able to be enjoyed by everyone.

Problem with you is, you seem to regard the entire world and everyone's circumstances, to be like the UK. It isn't. Fuck, you even seem to expect everyone's cirumstances in the UK to be the same.
Don't forget to spare a thought for all those second homeowners who will have to get a visa in order to stay longer than 90 days at a time. An outrageous imposition that deprived coastal areas should continue to subsidise through fish theft.

Maybe he gets them in to vote during the Christmas recess, so they don't’ scrutinise it and hold him to account, and by then it will be the only way to prevent a 1st January crash.

Just can't handle all these first world problems, mate.

Lol - the penny may be dropping

But you are right - in the main - Remainers on this thread do not do detail - or indeed think forwards, rather they just limit their thinking to the comfort of years gone by

Luckily - for them - they have/had been able to depend on others to do the 'hard yards' of analysis regards the future if we Remained

Will they ever 'man-up' and thank us?
That'll be never.

I did wonder who on earth eats sand eels but it turns out the Danes use it for pig feed, or rather, did use it.

Surely Gina Miller will be taking legal action if parliament don't get time to scrutinise /ammend any deal?

Incredible really that legislation that will fundamentally shape the future of this country for decades could be rushed through Parliament in a day or so without any real scrutiny.

Well it’s something anybody is free to do if they believe that’s happening. My point was more parliament will pass it even with Labour help, Johnsons hope will be getting past the ERG without much scrutiny so he doesn’t need to rely on Labour votes to pass his deal.

I blamed both.

Thankfully leaving the EU was the first step. Can't make changes to your own system if there's another one more influential in place. And as i've already stated, I voted to leave because I no longer wished to be a part of an EU which I saw as corrupt, power obsessed and dominated by a political ruling class.
..and end up in a disintegrating UK, corrupt and dominated by a ruling class who own the politicians in power, and somehow you think this is going to be in your interest. I fear that the concept of "reeking of privilege" is going to be well tested in the coming years.

It wasn't a "concerted attack". Anyone whinging about first world problems like that is going to attract ridicule.

I note you've mentioned nothing about how I was being disregarded about discussing the issue due to my circumstances. How odd.
Aren't you whinging about the first world problem of a precariat who can't rely on a job well paid enough to take a holiday?

Don't be silly, you've been avoiding the future of fish for months.

Shouldn't the Speaker have some kind of role in determining the time required for scrutiny and amendments?
What a shit constitution we've got when push comes to shove.

It would go through even without Labour or the ERG. But he's not got the bottle to discipline rebels on a three-line whip. I really don't know if he knows what he wants. It's just more dithering in the hope something turns up.

Second home owners, and oodles of ordinary people (let alone businesses) are going to be "inconvenienced" (and lose jobs...)

Now please explain how deprived coastal areas are going to benefit from Brexit.
