Think most remainers will also be happy, or at least relieved if there is a deal that puts to an end this interminable chapter

Most normal leavers and remainers will be happy with a deal, whatever is in it at least as a starting point to get us started in the new year, it won’t be an end. The only place I’ve come across anyone not wanting any deal if it means a few concessions or isn’t the full blown hard brexit is in this thread, and the hardcore ERG loonies.
In the normal world people are more interested in jobs and economy not some abstract notions of sovriegnty.

Thats wonderful news if it is true. I expect both sides will have moved to get an agreement which is what a successful negotiation is about. Neither side feels like they have been shafted. Lets see the detail but fair play to Frost/Johnson and VDL/Bernier if its true.

Neither side’s going to admit being shafted but it’s very welcome if true because No Deal would be a disaster.

No side will admit to that but critical analysis of any deal should show a balanced truth. I hope that both sets of red lines have been respected in the agreement.

These days detailed critical analysis matters less than getting ahead of the news cycle with the message you want to get out. Sad but true.

Independent quoting a French source

An unnamed French official said on Wednesday that the UK has made significant concessions over the past two days in Brexit talks with the EU.
They told Reuters: “The British have made huge concessions in the negotiations in the past 48 hours.”
The source added that Britain’s offer on fishing moved “far” beyond the 3-year access to British waters and 80 per cent quota reduction it offered last week.
