The truth can be sooo inconvenient.

Now there is a genuine Brexit outcome - a future independent Scotland can be responsible for the border requirements required to satisfy the EU.

I say let them decide on their future - I am sure that their answer will be unequivocal

I think we learned last week (well maybe you didn't) that border control relies on people either side of the border... not just one side.

You didn't say he was a Tory. If it wasn't an overused word, I'd say your sycophancy now means you post stuff you think supports your view without any check on the rubbish within the posts. Like Johnson with the deal.
It did/does not matter to me whether he is a SNP, Labour or Tory

Unlike others, my views and opinions are not defined and/or limited by my prejudices and hatreds

If you quote someone then you give the source of the quote. People can make their own minds up on the content.

We’re out, and as many predicted, an acceptable deal has been agreed. Listening to Starmer we aren’t rejoining anytime soon. The war is over. Time to get out the popcorn and watch events unfold in the EU. I expect to see the peace and harmony that was previously prevented by the nasty Brits. Not.

Conservatives now arguing that they hope we can get back what the Conservatives have just given up .... half of them are struggling to hold a coherent sentence together.

I did - I quoted from an article in a Scottish newspaper and provided a link to that article - which is the convention

Your point is?

Indeed - there will be a few 'Japanese snipers' holding out in their denial - but they will become fewer and less relevant as they 'howl at the moon'

The majority will just get on with their lives

Just wait for the the implications of the controls baked into the latest MFF and Covid recovery fund hit home. Just wait for the implications of the intended mutualisation of debt hit home.

You're going to need a bigger bucket of popcorn - but at least you can observe from the safety of an independent nation.

Correct, for the vast majority life will go on much as before, and the EU will become an irrelevance to all but the hardliners. I’m interested to see the direction of travel the EU takes, but I’m not too fussed now we’re out of it.

And so the deal is confirmed by the EU:

EU chiefs sign post-Brexit UK trade deal (rte.ie)

and later today will be confirmed by the UK - all in all a good end to a bad year.

We can all now try to move on and seek to make the best of the opportunities provided by Brexit.
Too much for me to read and catch up with this today so apologies if you’ve already addressed it. Hopefully there will be new opportunities for trade that will benefit businesses but as an ordinary stiff, a 50 odd year old semi retired nurse, can you give me a steer as to what opportunities I should be looking out to take advantage of?

Historical stuff with no relevance to anything today. People that use it really are scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Like they do when they bring up the Daily Mail's previous connections or the Tory Party's? Not disagreeing with you on the sentiment, I too feel that this sort of narrative around politics isn't helpful, but what's good for the goose and all that. The SNP's history must also be brought under scrutiny, if they are so keen to make that connection with others, and people need to start calling them out on it.

Just posted articles from Tories. Including from a Swindon MP who didn't mention Honda while wishing his constituents a happy new year when they will lose their jobs.

You won't engage with me because I (allegedly) "twist words" but happily copy and paste nonsense and lies.

Go for it mate. Maybe in response I should call out the Whigs handling of the Irish famine. You can use history for all sorts. On second thoughts lets not either of us bother.

Not too fussed? Sound like you’ve got a hard on at the prospect of division in the EU, you and a few others. Bit of a sad outlook given you’ve got the Brexit you wanted. Do you think we benefit from a divided Europe?

Hitler and Japanese snipers today already. Brexit bingo isn't done.

I will have to find time to research that - skeletons in the closet?
Same as now really. Striking paralels with the recent courting of Brussels, except of course the the EU are not quite the same as the folk the SNP were forming an alliance with back then.
