Wonderful piece. We need more of this.

Funnily enough, we've been the bad guys before. Even though we weren't the first side to spend £1m on one player we were the first to be criticised for it when we broke the transfer record in Sept 1979 (let's forget what we bought for the time being!).

70 odd years earlier we were the bad guys because we actually paid Manchester's first FA Cup winning team what they were worth.

great article Ric, glad that some blues are trying to stop the current tidal wave of opprobium that is coming our clubs way. I almost registered with the current bun online to tell Steve howard what i thought about his article yesterday-but i'm sure they would edit "you c*ck sucking,disease riddled top 4 bumming cnut" out.

Also kudos for the elbow quote in the last paragraph!
