Ante Coric

Ćorić is more attacking but capable of playing CM. That's why it's so tough fof him. There's just way too many players this season. KDB Silva, Yaya Fernandinho Gabriel Jesus possibly Nolito Sané playing there Moreno soon Gündogan Aleix Garcia at CM. what I'm hoping is we can offer him a better club like PSV with Zinchenko who's in Champions League this season.

Aleix is definitely class but more defensive. I'm not sure how much you know about Bytyqi or Coric but I'm assuming Coric is a class ahead as of now, and also two years older. Thoughts on the two?
I have believed for a good six months now that Aleix García is our most important and exciting young player especially in Pep's system where García may be the only player other than Gundogan capable of really being his 'Conductor'. Don't know as much about Bytiqi but the contract extension and how big a deal it was suggests he's valued highly.

I still think he'll be the first one to break through into the first team.

Back on topic, Yaya, Fernandinho and Navas' contract runs out at the end of the season although I expect dinhos contract to get renewed so I'm taking it that the youngsters that we've bought will replace them. Also if the likes of Fernando and Delph fail to impress they could get sold, leaving room for more youngsters to fill in.

  • Yaya for garcia
  • Fernandinho (if his contract doesn't get renewed) for Coric, if not then fernando or delph
  • Navas for zinchenko

Excellent points mate!;)

I think the issue for me is that I see Coric ahead of Garcia in terms of flexibility and technical ability at this point in their developments and its clear after Wednesday night, (in a game where Pep was giving Yaya and Fernando a chance to show him how they can play in his system) that both Fernando/Yaya fell way short of what is needed.

Our starting 11 is looking great and really coming together, which is why it should be a good time to bring in a lad like Coric that might not start every game but will get experience off the bench. Instead we stuck with with 2 players (maybe 3 depending on your look term view of Delph in Pep's system) that dont fit, a step off the pace and have no long term place in the squad. Having Garcia and Coric growing under Pep and giving us excellent depth for many seasons ahead is an exciting thought and would be a shame to miss on a talent like Coric because we only offering a loan deal because players like Yaya, Fernando and Delph are taking up all the midfield places...

Hopefully it's all posturing and he is open to the move if within the squad.

I think Delph should get a season, we don't want to be seen getting rid of all our English players. He is also a honest, hard working player, who took a lot of abuse coming to City. So let's give him a go.

Yaya and Fernando can't go quick enough, although Yaya has done a lot it is time to move on. Surely a deal could be done. We would then have the space in the squad for him to have a role.

Technically better than Garcia ?

There must be some footage I've missed. Doesn't look anywhere near as good to me.

He's a new Silva, if you want an analogy. But not yet ready to be played in EPL. Needs a loan in the league better than Croatian. Granada would be a wonderful choice.

Where is this rating coming from ? Genuine question.

All I can see is highlights of his 'best' bits & to me, if we sign him, he's nowhere near our first team level, then next season onwards he has to shift Brahim Diaz etc & he's not in the same class.

Wasnt a knock against Garcia mate!;) Think Garcia has got a great future ahead at City. I just think, at this point, when you compare them both, Coric is further along in his development and has had more experience (at club and country) Having him and Garcia would set us up for years!;)

Brahim is 17 and the only other M that's anywhere near ready as far as I can tell is Aleix. I'm not sure about Manu but I'm not sold on him yet. This is definitely a position we could use a boost in for youth.

He's also scored and assisted in CL play. I don't think he's really keen on coming though. It's hard to play CL football and then go on loan to mediocre spanish squad and then HOPE you get a chance next year.

Guardiola's opinion on him (he was impressed during the CL game with Bayern) and my personal feeling - I watched some Zagreb games this year. Also, he is one of the most coveted young CMs in the world.

I would reserve any hopes for the youngster who hadn't played any competitive match with the grown-ups so far. 99% of so called 'youth stars' do not get near the required level eventually.

Coric has admitted contact with Bayern, Manchester City and Real Madrid, and that both Milan teams were also interested in him last January. However, all of that happened during his disagreement with Dinamo and he is now saying the same things before those events occurred – that he is in no hurry to leave Dinamo and has a contract with them until 2020. It is his intention to remain for at least another year or two there.

That article is from ages ago, things obviously changed in the last 6 weeks.

Yep, you're right. Posted this article to provide an additional info about the lad and to show how he's coveted by the big boyz.

I'm basing it on first touch etc.

Imo we have a selection of kids with more ability.
