Good smackheads are vile scum, kill the lot of the bastards and the world would be a better place.

‘I sometimes flirt with the Telegraph or peep at The Times, but it’s with the Mail that I’ve stuck ever since. It really is a rock-solid daily. I especially love Richard Littlejohn. He doesn’t just shoot from the hip. He fires bazookas from it. Immigrants, travelling tinkers, and especially homosexuals - many of his pieces are so good I cut them out and laminate them. I keep them in my downstairs loo, a simple, wipe-clean tribute to one of the most progressive thinkers in the United Kingdom.’

Alan Partridge

That did make me chuckle.

People are so quick to jump to conclusions - I'm pretty sure that anthrax spores can be found in animal skins so he may have been a holidaymaker who got it from enjoying a donkey ride on the beach.

I know exactly where that is as my scouse half of the family live not a million miles away from the area.

Honest question - why don't you move?

I really am trying, in fact I was even looking at moving to Droysden to a house on Peakdale Rd. After all the shit that's gone on recently that's well out of the window now though.

I bet there's a lot of people on here that'd be in serious financial trouble if they lost their job or went on long term sick tomorrow.

I've seen it happen where peoples lives just implode when they lose their job - house, car and everything barring what they can get in a holdall - all gone in a few months. If you have family that'll put a roof over your head that's ok. Plenty don't though and end up on the streets. Then, if they haven't already, they find the answer in a bottle. Then drugs.

Same with kids in care and armed forces personnel. They're so used to being looked after and told what to do and when to do it - they come out and just can't hack it.

So next time you see a down and out or whatever you want to call them - just think for a moment - that guy might have put his life on the line fighting for this country, he might have lost his Mum and Dad as a young kid or just been abandoned and stuck in care through no fault of his own.

My friend was asked for some money by a girl in Manchester. He said no but I'm going to sit in the chippy and have dinner come and join me. Which she did. Turns out she was being abused by her Mums partner and her Mum just thought she was making it all up to split them up. So she ran away. Ended up on the streets and just couldn't get off them. Admited she did drugs but said it was all that got her through the day.

I've known loads of people that have gone through horrendous shit and not one of them has turned in to a smack head.

An addict is an addict, whether they're addicted to fast food, beer or heroin. I'm not going to celebrate the death of a 'junkie' just because they're seen as scum - they're still somebody's son or daugfhter and have just made the wrong choice in life.

This. I know they do scummy things but they're desperate, only if you have known someone or have been in that position yourself can you begin to understand.

This may never, ever happen again in the history of the Cellar, but I agree 100% with BB2 here.
Addiction is an illness, not that the usual suspects on here would understand.
I am now going for a lie down until the shock subsides.

Maybe it is an illness but a self inflicted illness non the less. Not in the same league as cancer, diabete,MS, etc etc. The choice to inject that shit into their body is theirs and theirs alone.

So is eating shit loads of food, smoking, drinking and leading a sedentary lifestyle which cause obesity and is direct cause of cancer and diabetes.

Do you know,I never realised that there was a league table of illnesses.
I always thought that sick people needed help and treatment regardless of whether they had brought about their own demise or not.
But maybe we shouldn't treat alcoholics,or drug users,or people who are injured in accidents that are their own fault,or those who contract HIV,because it's all their own fault.
In fact let's not treat kids who chase a ball into the road either, because it's their fault after all,or silly babies who fall out of high chairs.
Let's just treat people who get struck by lightning, but not if they were stood under a tree or playing golf, because that would be their own fault.
That should free up NHS waiting lists.
Only treat the blameless.
Blinding idea.

Do you know of many fat bastards that go around mugging old ladies and breaking their hips. Which eventually leads to their deaths when they snatch their bags just so they can buy a big mac ?

Personally I don't know any fat bastards that have done that, I do know smack heads that did do that to an olderly women that used to live next door to me though (R.I.P. Lily).
