Anti Semitic BBC

so let me get this right , anyone who opposes israels aggressive stance against palestine is anti semitic ?

No, not in my opinion. The BBC are though, just as they are anti American.

The BBC, in my experience, has always been critical of Israel.

That would be anti-Zionist, not antisemitic.

I hate Israel but don't hate Jews, so I too am anti-Zionist and not antisemitic.

I think you are getting anti-semitism (a racist hatred of Jews in general) mixed up with an anti-Israel stance (which is political). Although the latter is used by some people to mask the former, there are many Jews who are critical of aspects of Israeli policy and also many non-Jews who are not themselves anti-semitic. Most Arab governments would fall into that latter description.

Sorry you are right. I lifted the article and made my own title that is why their is confusion. The loathsome George Galloway uses this argument a lot, as does Red Ken, just to clarify; I do believe that the beeb are anti Semitic and anti Zionist.

What do you base that on?

I suggest you read the part where I said 'I lifted the article'....nice try though sunshine.

The BBC is repeatedly criticised by both Israel and the Palestinians for 'bias'. If they're pissing off both sides, sounds like they're doing something right.

I'd like to see some evidence that the BBC claimed it was Mossad who was responsible for 11 September - utter, utter wank.

I suggest you make that point clear from the start rather than trying to pass someone else's work off as your own.

You know, it's funny, but I actually read the whole original piece and thought regardless of the disagreement of opinion, that the writer was excellent in delivery... Onto the subsequent posting of 'brooklandsblue'... and it was littered with spelling mistakes and poor sentencing and I thought 'is this the same person??'!!

Apparently not!! LOL!!

PLAGIARIST!!

Ther BBC suffers from the 'liberal' desire to support causes it knows little about and which are regarded as trendy by unworldly types in academia and Fleet St. Praise for Cuba, anti-Americanism, a determination to ignore anything bad about Islam and a determination to see the good things about the old Soviet Empire are all examples of the 'liberal mindset'. Pro-Palestinianism is another and the one which gives rise to the anti-Israel BBC's alleged bias.

The BBC had been criticised many times about anti-Israel bias and in 2003 the Balen report was commissioned to investigate the BBC's neutrality on middle east matters. The report has never been made public despite various attempts to use the Freedom of Information act to get this done.

In 2004 a complaint against the BBC was upheld because a BBC reporter, Barabara Plett told the nation that she was in tears when Yasser Arafat was taken out of his Israeli Army beseiged West Bank stronghold to die in a Paris hospital. She broke impartiality rules although at first the BBC denied that there was a problem and rejected complaints. Plett still works at the BBC.

There is a suspicion in many quarters that the BBC is, like academia and the journalists union, a stronghold of those who regard themselves as ant-Zionists as a cover for something worse.

Not sure about Anti Semites but definitely a bunch of patronising middle class wankers.

They definitely aren't left wing though. More like right of centre; as in they try to look out for the interests of the middle class yet try to support things that are often associated with the left. Most people you see at the anti war in Iraq protests are exactly like this. They are left wing on war and racism etc. but they still discriminate against the poorer sections of society.

Ah, the old "anti-semitic" tag.

Anyone who is staunchly pro-Israel is inherently anti-Palestinian and in turn against the prospect of peace in the Middle East.

Myself, I can be highly critical of the Israeli Government (or any government) without being anti-semitic. It's an absurd insinuation that if you are against certain policies of a state you in some way hate the citizens of said state. Only a moron or an extremely dishonest person employs such tactics.

Also, I see alot of use of the old left-right paradigm. It is a flawed view of reality. Being "far left", for example, doesn't automatically mean you are a certain type of person. Afterall, Mother Theresa and Stalin were both very "left wing"

Education is over rated, if you can count money then you're a far more useful member of society in my book. I never EVER claimed that work to be my own, and you know that. Your desperation to 'pick up my mistakes' led to YOU looking like a fool, so to protect your ego you took a personal swipe at me. You have less class than Al Gore.
