Just put Win 7 on my computer, dual booting with Vista. My question is, do I have to have another AV prog on the Win 7 partition?
Thankyou, that is all!

Lets put in a nutshell here, if you can't see the anti virus logo and you're new partition then yes you should use a separate anti virus but if you can scan all your files and folders then obviously you don't.

Hope that wasn't too confusing for ya.

If you are dual booting, then whichever OS you boot into should have Anti Virus, unless you are not going on the web on one of them (i.e. a clean lean gaming machine), but I would still install Avast on all OS's personally.

I put Avast on any way, all is ok, just a touch unsure initially as had problems with running 2 AV progs together.
Thanks
