Antonee Robinson

Reminds me of when Liverpool signed Robertson.

A good player who is experienced in the league and moving to a bigger club where surrounded by better players and a system that (should) allow them to play much more possession based attacking football.

No brainier for me as long as it’s not stupid money. Because like the old City tax we are desperately needing players and wouldn’t surprise me if we get ripped off on the odd transfer now.
This is the one real worry. Seems everything is against us in terms of getting a good deal. People know we've got cash after making a profit, they know we're desperate, they know we're in a rush and most clubs don't want to sell in Jan.

You get about £1.4m more for winning a CL game in the league phase than a Europa League game in the league phase. So we could pay £10m more than we wanted to, but fuck it, if it gets us in the CL we'll get that back pretty quickly in prize money.

There's a lot of money at risk. There's rumoured to be a 100m dollars for winning the CWC with additional prize money for winning individual games.

This summer is not going to give much time to prepare players or get them up to speed to attack next season so we've got to go for it.

I think we just have to accept it this time round. It hasn’t happened in a while.

We have the pull power that means most players will try and get a move to City when we are at the table so it works in our favour more than not I’d say.

Well it would seem Pep agrees with his recent quotes on the squad size and amount of games. We really have bled all we can from this squad. There's lads who have played a ridiculous amount of games over the last few years.

Over the last 5 years we've made £70m profit on transfers. Meanwhile the other top 6 clubs are

Arsenal: -£463m
Chelsea: -£901.9m
Liverpool: -£248.8m
Rags: -£611.5m
Spurs: -£516.4m

So basically we'd need to spend roughly £310m just to get our spending on par with the next lowest net spenders. Personally I couldn't give a shit about these net spend trophies people seem to care about online. I've been enjoying the trophies on the pitch far more

Don't need him in January and we shouldn't completely write of Gvardiol either.

We do need him in January and there's room for him with Gvardiol in the squad. Stones and Ake are unreliable. Walker is done. Lewis needs to be a rotation option. Akanji needs to play at RB when fit and if others aren't Dias-Gvardiol would be the CB pairing.

It's different players for different opponents.

Ideally we could play Akanji-Stones-Dias-Ake at some point but Robinson would at least ensure we don't need to play Lewis/Nunes or whoever else at LB this season.
