Antonee Robinson

Reminds me a lot of where Walker was when we signed him, honestly think he could top for us too playing the same sort of role walker has over the past years (being our get out of jail card defensively with his speed), would really depend on if we want to move gvardiol into the middle tho.

Has really stepped his performances up this season. Has always had the pace and physicality but was inconsistent and not always the best positionally. But he's the right age and has the right attributes to do a job for us. Shame he's a left back as we don't like signing them! Kerkez could become a far better player, but it's early days and he might just be having a purple patch. With Gvardiol still so young, it makes sense to bring in someone entering their peak and with more experience - even if that's not at the top level.

Remain a hard no on this player. He's good but his main attacking move is to use his tremendous work rate to get up and down and fire crosses into the box and Pep is never going to let him do that. He's not really the player to do a bunch of intricate passing and I think he'd really struggle in our system while being quite a good player

Fair take. I just see him as the knew Kyle Walker. Just on the left. He is fast and physical. Not as technical but a better crosser than Kyle.

This is the first I've seen somebody call Walker a "technical" player lol
Bad writing. The "not as technical" part wasn't supposed to be s comparison to Walker but rather to what the expected City standards are.

But i wrote it in conjunction with a comparison to Walker's crossing. Just hopeless writing on my part.

I meant to write "Robinson is not super technical. However he is a better crosser than Kyle.

And the better player.

I’m a massive fan of Kerkez.

I’ll tell you now, if we don’t sign the kid, the dippers will.
If we can’t get Robinson.

I’m sure you know Kerkez plays LB for Bournemouth and Bournemouth signed a new LB today Argentinian U20 Captain for £6m. Perhaps they are expecting Kerkez to go in summer and Bournemouth have brought in his successor.

Kerkez will go to the dippers if Robinson doesn’t imo mate.

That cross he did in the 1st half was great. Haaland would score loads if he was getting them sorts of balls in the box regularly.

Homegrown as well I believe.

My 1st choice for left back.

The fact that we deliberately targeted him with cross-field balls suggests we know there is a weakness. He impresses in attack but less so in defence.
He does seem to get caught out positionally somewhat often. Seems to have gone to the Kyle Walker Camp for Fullback Positioning where you’re taught that you don’t need to be close to your marker and your pace will save you.

Would be lethal going forward in our team though.

He isn't good enough for us. I still do not believe we are going to change our approach to one where full backs start swinging balls in regularly either. It's just not Pep's way. Once you factor that in, the likes of Kerkez and Robinson are very unlikely.

Yes, those with pace always seem to think they can cede a couple of yards, but his lack of physicality, especially in the air, makes me think we’ll look elsewhere if at all.

Could also be a case of him trusting his center backs, left wing and midfield a little more than he should. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt there but I’m not sure it would be worth the gamble assuming Fulham will put a hefty price on him. Big bonus for him is he counts as homegrown
