Anyone agree with me, this guy can play. Antonio Valencia would be a good addition to our midfield.

I dont think we need any midfielders! I think with some good additions in defence and 1 or 2 excellent strikers our midfield will be more than strong enough and have enough quality to contend for 5th next season! Why would we want to replace SWP anyway?, it's only his 1st season back and when he gets a full pre-season under Hughes - who looks to have got Ireland in tip-top condition this season - he will be better than Valencia! Plus Valencia's first touch can often be very poor and does little on the defensive side - SWP is great at both of these things - and i think is the reason none of the top clubs put a bid in for him last summer after Jamie Redknapp was bigging him up in the last month of last season!

Jesus, almost every goal we've conceded this season has been from fucking awful and embarrassing defending - you watch the end of season vid and i guarantee it will be cring-worthy most of the time - so i reckon that prob was the best goal we've conceded all season!

It helps if the midfield decide to come back and help. Valancia looks a good strong agressive type with a bit of skill and an excellent shot. Very good player i think.

we need a squad, ie different types of players for different types of games. surely having a player like him who is totally different to swp would be good? its not just 11 players everyone.

But he is an out-and-out winger, not a midfielder. We should sign him just to spite Fergie and to provide competition for SWP on the right side.

I think we have enough in midfield. I would only buy an out-and-out Superstar ( Essien, Gerrard, Yaya Toure ) Valencia is really no better than what we've got.
