Love visiting art galleries.Must be old masters up to impressionists though.
Done Paris,Berlin,Madrid,Copenhagen,Florence,Genoa,Brussels,Ghent and Cologne.
Any other suggestions in Europe.
Modern and contemporary a none starter.

Amsterdam is a good choice (Rijksmuseum & Van Gogh)

The museum of art history in Vienna. The whole city is beautiful

Another vote for Vienna, several galleries in Venice, Budapest has a couple of good uns too.

Gugginheim in Bilbao, full of the stuff I love and you obviously hate ;0). Malaga has a good Picasso gallery and a Pompidou gallery.

Amsterdam, as GrumpyFrog says. If you don't do modern art then you won't do the Stedelijk Musuem but that's a shame as it's good. But you could do the Kroller-Muller Museum near Arnhem, which has an outstanding Van Gogh collection, possibly better than the Van Gogh in Amsterdam.
