I passed on my second attempt 20 years ago , and have experienced no problems since ...

i failed the first test right 'at the death' , because i did the wrong thing as some dickhead almost drove straight into me at high speed.

However you only really learn to drive AFTER you've passed your test , when you have to deal with traffic situations alone.

I suspect the examiner made up his mind to fail me on my first test when I couldn't find the right side-street the car was parked in near the test centre in Bury.

I passed one yesterday, he was driving really slowly though.

Passed about 2 years ago on my 3rd go. Wasn't really the driving that was the problem, was mostly just the nerves, it's quite the pressure environment.
