They could get relegated, come back up, finish 4th, and STILL be in Pot 1 probably! Just like Financial Fair Play the whole seeding system is set up to protect the established elite. With that said, we could be getting much easier draws than we are whether in Pot 2 as we are now or Pot 3 as we were last year. It's just ridiculously bad luck. If we had a group like AC Milan/Anderlecht/Zagreb (if those ridiculous technicalities didn't prevent us from drawing those clubs as they did Cluj and Nordsjælland) we could have gone through with maximum points.
I think the only reason we ended up in pot 3 this season is because Chelsea won the company last year and pushed English coefficients up. That's not how rankings work though. Be patient. In ten years time I'd hope we'd be established enough and good enough to be in pot 1 and we'd have the experiences of twelve years in the competition to take forward as a club and a set of fans.

BillyShears said:I'll be disappointed if we don't get out of the group, and I don't think we will now. But the key is to retain the PL - if we do then CL becomes irrelevant. If we don't, then anything less than qualification from the group will be deemed a rather large failure.
