There is, it would seem a system whereby people do deliveries in their own neighbourhood having received a job lot of parcels in the morning and then get paid per parcel delivered using their own vehicle on a self employed basis.

Does anyone do this, or know anything about it and does it end up being worth your while pay wise?

Sounds like Kleeneze, give BB2.0 a shout, he knows all about it mate ! ;)

No it's not. It's actually delivering parcels on for DHL but they have a new business plan now and rather than employ loads of white van drivers, they're making a load redundant and delivering large amounts of parcels, say about 30 to one person who delivers them through the day in their own vehicle. Neighbourhood couriers apparently. Wondered if anyone did it and if so was it worth it?

I work in the Parcel industry as a Shift Manager for a "Major Player". - or I am for at least the next three weeks until my 26 year career goes down the pan with the softening blow of a redundancy Cheque.

DO NOT GO NEAR THIS WITH A BARGE POLE.

You can pm me for a more in depth analysis if you want.

Lass who I worked with did it in the mornings before her afternoon shift, her fella did another area, she had 6 holidays a year and newish cars every year, looked twice her age like but hey ho, think she did it for a catalogue firm, Littlewoods/Grattan or whoever.

Avoid any driving job with the words 'multi' and 'drop' like the plague. It's the fastest way to an ulcer and grey hair.
