Anyone Agree With Gary Neville About FFP For A Change?

10 months ago this same team scored 102 goals for the season ( a record less 2 goals) and wiped the floor with everyone. All of a sudden we are a rabble with the same players ??...FFP has prevented us buying the quality of players to take the next step after our title wins to be on a par with B Munich, Madrid, Barca.
Our current form however is not FFP, it is something else to do with the players minds. That problem is the sole responsibility of the Manager!

And for the record, what Neville said is correct. FFP is wrong and we should take it on. Regardless of what his motives may or may not be.

Yes, he spoke a lot of sense there. I think Sky would relish City buying a new team of great players to set up next season.

Problem is that to do that the current lot need to finish top three and at present they seem to be having a combination of rotten luck and (in some cases) half heartedness that almost reflects the sense that half of them do not expect to be here next season anyway - so why bust a gut?

Motivating a top three effort might be hard for a manager who seems to have the look and luck of someone waiting for his P 45.

But if they can get into the top 3 somehow, then, yes, they should go all out to refresh this squad because for whatever reason it seems to be in need of more than just a bit of tinkering.

I hope a lot of planning is happening right now and not in the Summer when there will be many teams chasing all the best players and this is not the all conquering free flowing and free scoring City side of 2014 who just might have attracted them here above the great names from the past who will be after them too.

This is the most crucial window in the history of this club IMO. It simply has to be got right. And it is not going to be easy. They should not be waiting for some Summer summit. By then it could be too late.

"This is the most crucial window in the history of this club " bit OTT there mate

"That problem is the sole responsibility of the Manager" No its not. These are professionals being paid a kings ransom week in week out. Pellers should take some blame, but for me, the players take equal amounts, if not more.

Txiki chose to sign Mangala over Sanchez last summer.

Do you blame FFP or poor recruitment?

a gobsmacking oversight if ever there was one, if this was the case...was it really?

A poor post tbh.

We needed a partner for Vinnie so bought what was perceived (by those that know better than us) to be the best avail

And yet he gets dropped after every game he plays.

(btw I don't believe we chose him over Sanchez. Don't think we had a chance with him, he wanted to move to London)

I said pretty much the same thing a few pages ago mate. FFP hasn't impacted up Aguero, Silva, Nasri, Yaya, Kompany, Zabaleta, has it. On Monday we fielded pretty much the identical side we won 2 titles with, and yet they couldn't beat Palace.

FFP is a problem in that we don't have brilliant new talent ready and waiting in the wings. But we can't blame FFP for why we are currently 4th.

'Chose' Mangala over Sanchez? Ludicrous.

1) We were under FFP restrictions had to prioritise.
2) We believed we needed a CB, and not a striker, or creative midfielder. Most of the fans would have gone along with that too. We got one (albeit at a high price).
3) There's no evidence to even suggest we were even in for Sanchez, and certainly none that he would have come to us even if we were.

You make it sound like they were lined up against a wall and we could choose either of them, and you do it in hindsight of having seen Sanchez have a good season and Mangala a poor one. It's total nonsense.
