Anyone Back From Greece

It was a great trip apart from the Greek police!! There must have been more police in and around that stadium than fans (and we had a fantastic showing of fans as well). The keeping in at the end I wouldn't have minded if we had had toilet facilities!! After 50 minutes I had to push my way through to the gates and tell the police that I was going through no matter what! Don't think they understood me but they didn't stop me, probably because they realised that an older woman was not quite capable of assaulting them!! :-)

At least at other grounds when we have been kept in they allowed toilet facilities.

But I owe a great thanks to Spike and Miles for sorting out my flight problems and getting me home. Thanks guys, next time I will make sure I book early with Spike's Trip. You were both amazing and, as always, your trips are great.

Walking down to the harbour and along the sea front yesterday was surreal because all the City fans were out in force and it was like being at home but with a seaside instead of office buildings! :-)

As I travel alone (apart from usually being on Spike's organised trips) it is really heartening and uplifting to have fans recognise me now and so many of them are protective and making sure I am alright. Thank you everyone, it is great to be a part of the City family of fans.

OK, OK, I can just hear the comments from some of you, "sloppy mare, silly so and so" etc. But it is good to know that among all the negatives around football fans there are so many positives as City fans in particular have shown over these last months.

Right, back to work now. Sorry for the long post folks!

Back at 2 this morning and in work at 7, too many Gyhros, too much Beer and not enough sleep, can't wait for the next one!

Run-down seaport with two shit teams and locals who speak funny. I could've saved £300 and had an overnighter in Scouseland. It was ok-ish but if we get PAOK later on I won't be making the effort. Not a patch on the Salzburg or Juve trips for me.

And the riot police were complete cnuts, it's a good job the away section wasn't rammed or there could have been a mini-Hillsborough the way they started to let people out 5 or 6 at a time squeezing between two riot shields.

Watched it on tv and there was a City flag in the Greek end and we were wondering why it was there. My dad said he got a text saying the greeks robbed it from one of his mates and ripped it up?

Oh yes, the pre-match entertainment, a couple of kids ran across the pitch, stuck their hands through the railing to try and nick one of the flags but only succeeded in ripping off one half. They then legged it back to the far end chased by a couple of stewards and then what looked like a few of their "ultras" came on and seemed to make it clear to the stewards that bad things would follow if they lifted the kids, who were allowed back into the crowd.

Still in Greece! On a 5 hour train to Athens to get a flight tonight. A marathon leg home but amongst 12 blues so in good company. Game wasn't great but a great trip as always. We will get to Lansdown Road this year, I guarantee it...

It was a good trip, a very strange place. Im glad we played Aris rather than there rivals PAOK anyway. Now them lot did seem a mad bunch.
