Anyone been to Buenos Aires?

Tourists can get tickets for games.Ask at your hotel for the agents who organise. Its more dificult at River as they have cut down a lot on black market. A possibility is go to the club and do the stadium tour and Museo. They might try and help. If you have Spanish the "populares" should be ok at River or maybe Velez. Independiente and Racing will be much eaaier.Anywhere else go to the seats.Torres Del Paine is one side of the Andes El Chalten and Fitzroy the other.Spectacular place go to the glaciares at El Calafate nearby they are amazing.Do both sides of the border its worth it.Aerolineas Argentinas have daily flights to El Calafate,Esquel and Bariloche from either Aeroparque or Ezeiza. In that part of Patagonia November to March is best but remember almost all of Argentina go on holiday in January.
Thanks for the info. Much appreciated!

Are you named Passarella after the fine Argentine World Cup winning captain of 1978?
The one and only El Gran Capitan. The best defender i saw 24 goles in 71 games for Argentina 99 in 299 for River 35 in 153 in Serie A.The only Argentine with 2 World cup medals,7 Argentine leagues as a player 6 as tecnico plus a Mexican league tecnico of Argentina 94-98 and his downfall President of River. He was only 1m 77 but was the best header of the ball when he played, a wonderful free kick taker and a true iron Caudillo.A truly great player a top DT and a disastrous President.

He always interested me as my great-grandmother in Italy was a Passarella and it is a common name in the town my family are from though having looked up DP's background a few years ago I think his family originated from a different region (Molise maybe)

Having looked again, his family originate from a town called Moliterno in Basilicata which is 56 miles from my family town

Passarella like so many Argentines has Italian antepesados dont know the word in English.Maybe you are related to one of the all time greats. He is/was a dificult guy but as a player a legend. The pity was he thought he could be great player top DT and President. He was the first 2 but he soiled his reputation with the third a great pity.We would not have won so many titles without his quality and leadership nor would Argentina in 78 even though we also had Kempes,Bertoni,Luque,Fillol,Alonso,Ardiles a great team.On that team Fillol,Passarella,Alonso,Ortiz, and Luque all played with River while Kempes,Houseman,Gallego and Tarantini would all join later.

Antepesados - ancestors

Can't really remember him as a player, think he was still around for the 82 WC but didn't get on with Maradona maybe? Do remember him as DT of the Argentina team and his insistence that the players all had short hair including Batigol who had to have his locks cut off. Would be ok these days as I noticed the Argentina team this year all had short, back and sides rather than the traditional manes of yesteryear!

Passarella always interested me due to his surname which is in common with my great-grandmother

In 82 he was still captain and easily Argentinas best player scored a great gol v Brasil. In 86 he came down with Montezumas or Bilardos revenge in Mexico. The most famous case with the long hair was Fernando Redondo who would not play with him.Your neighbours suffered badly from his magic in a champions league semi final in Manchester.
