Anyone been to tunisia

we went to port el kantaoui about 10 years ago. hotel was great but the local were very sketchy and this was supposed to be a holiday resort. my mrs felt very unsafe and i wasnt over the moon either

The oddest thing is how did you go about booking a holiday somewhere without once discussing it with the wife ?

You don't just go shopping and then comeback at teatime and say, popped into Thomas Cooks love, we are now off to Tunisia on holiday, hope that was okay.

Or if you did discuss it and she didn't like the idea at the initial stages and she doesn't seem to like you suggested, why then book said place ????

The Cancun that the American authorities are telling people to avoid due to the cartels moving in and having a mini war to decide who sells the drugs to the spring breakers?
Yes, that one. I go there frequently both with work, and taken the family twice in the past year, and one of the things people seem not to understand is that Cancun TOWN is NOT Cancun Hotel Zone. They are very different. Google Earth is your friend. If you want to go into town and wander around, you can, the bus is $1 each way, which will leave you a few bucks for a drug deal. However, half the drug deals are traps, so make sure you have a decently corrupt Mexican lawyer on speed dial if you want to play that game.

The Hotel Zone is one of the largest revenue generators in Mexico and Mexican Authorities are not about to lose it over a few dime bags. Additionally, you do know that Spring Break is about 1 month of the year, right?

Been there a few times mate. Just saw the media report last month and it seemed ironic as you said it was safe.

I’d be hitting Cuba right now for the same beaches.

Just booked a week in august.
The sentido phenicia hammamet.
Misses is moaning like a good n saying were all going to get shot.
Anyone been

Yep, she's right...went on our honeymoon and got shot at. By an 88 mm Howitzer. On a live firing range. On a 50cc Honda chicken chaser. Granted we were lost and didn't realise it was a live firing range at the time but the soldiers were very friendly and gleefully waved us on our merry way. Fuck, those things are loud.
I'd go again but with a map next time.

With my British passport, not a problem. Getting there from the USA is the hard part, and Trumpster trying to clamp down. USVI and BVI, and even some of the FL beaches are as nice as anything anywhere...with infrastructure!

Regardless, I wouldn’t be heading to Tunisia any time soon.
