Altogether now, 'And, always look on the bright side of life, de de, de de, de de de de de de'.

And how is a rag song helpful?

I was under the impression it was from my all time favourite film 'The Life Of Brian'? There are eight games left and we're still in touching distance of Fourth. Liverpool were always going to beat Sunderland, but they go back below us if we beat Wigan. Spurs were always going to beat Portsmouth, but they then play Sunderland away, closely followed by Chelsea, Arsenal and United. If that isn't bad enough they still have to come to Eastlands. It's in our own hands and even if we miss out this year we will strengthen further in the summer with either Mancini or some other top manager bringing in some top players. Cheer up please everyone.

I haven't seen Liverpool play this well all season. A team containing the quality Liverpool have has to click into gear sooner or later. For me Liverpool will be Spurs closest rivals for 4th. Hate to be a defeatist but I reckon we'll just fade away. The absence of Lescott and Bridge will hurt us and Mancini hasn't got the right blend in midfield to dominate games for more than 45 mins. Tevez, Bellers and Johnson will only take us so far. I'm more concerned we wont get a spot in the Europa league which will be important to entice quality players next year. Sorry for the negativity, just keeping it real.

I'm not worried about the Europa Cup. If anything, we could do without it. People have to play too many fixtures in that competition. Fulham have played 50 games this season, all told, and they're still only at the Q/F stage. That competition doesn't carry enough kudos to make it worth anybody's while.

well spotted!

but if you want to succeed lie them then we have to start trying to do the right things......and those two teams do the right things.....ie go out to won games, not just contain teams and hope we get a goal

No we're not but we need to be developing that sort of mentality. I accept that it takes time.

You also need players who can control and pass a ball, this clearly wasn't a priority when our squad was built, thus you can't compare us to top sides.

Fairly obvious question I know but it's one of the poorest Liverpool sides for several years, they have lost double the games we have & some of their players haven't looked interested in recent weeks.

Yet as I type this they are 1 up & will leap frog us if they win.
I know we have 2 games in hand & assuming (big word in forecasting City) we win both the gap will be 5 points.

But being brutally honest have we not spurned opportunities throughout this season to make us not even bother about what Liverpool do?. It irritates me that they are still in the mix.
I know the league table doesn't lie & if they finish above us then it's becuase they would have earned more points than us.

I just think it would be a travesty & a major dissapointment in my book if that is what happens.

If, within that run of draws, we had been playing really well and were just unlucky not to have had a few wins in there; then possibly I'd be disappointed! but to be honest we were pretty fuckin dog shite in almost all of them draws and in other games and we don't really deserve to be out of sight of anyone!

Even in many of our wins I'm really struggling to think of a game where I was inspired by our performance and thought "shit, we were excellent today!" (only one is Chlesea at home really!) Chelsea away we were poor in the first half and it was a strange second half where we just took our chances and Even at Fulham last week, where we played well in spells, we didn't put in a top 4 quality end to the game where you'd expect a top 4 team to take over possession and finish off a mid-table team, who were shit for an hour, with a 3rd or more goals!

This is where I won't be overly disappointed if we don't get 4th as I think we're half a squad and 4 years off being a deserved Champions Lg team!

I agree, but playing Ginger ho, losing and missing out on the top 4 isn't the way to develop that mentality.

Have we forgotten conceding 3 in 3 straight games?
